Lake Ingalls mid summer, still covered in a layer of ice. It Mountain goats roamed the edges of the lake. I climbed up on these rocks to get an overview shot of the scene.

  • Submitted a challenge entry The Cave
Off trail, hidden along the ledges at the Gorge Metro Park in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio, I crawled into this small cave. The walls were covered in neon graffiti. At first glance, this ruined the scene's natural beauty, but with the afternoon sun shining in, the whole cave felt alive and vibrant.

HDR of three long exposures. Taken with a fisheye lens.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Iron Works
As I clambered down into a partially collapsed tunnel at the old Joliet Illinois Iron Works, I was instantly drawn to this scene. The mid afternoon sun was streaming in from a hole in the ceiling, bathing the walls of the old brick tunnel in a warm, yellowish green glow. The circular brick patten framed the scene.

The old iron works is a strangely beautify place, very industrial yet somehow also natural in its decay. Crawling on my belly over the dusty ground, and lugging my tripod along, I managed to get this shot.
