Steve,
I'm going to have to saw what everyone else said. I'm in the range of 60-80. Seems to be the magic number for my 70-200 G or my Sigma 150-500. If I use my cheap-o 75-30 then I've cracked...

Really well done. The only criticism I have is that on the first picture where there is an out of focus tree in the foreground, I thought it was someones head.

Sigma and Tamron lens for Sony cameras does not have the lens stabilization features since it is controlled by the camera.

One of the major issues with Sony having low sales is their insistence that some retailers sell other Sony products as well, such as their televisions. I don't really see the point, but it is the...

I recently had the same problem on my a77 with my Sigma 150-500; however, I did not have the issue when using the same lens on my a99. My a77 was still under extended warranty with whomever B&H...

In a more polite way, I think the other folks are telling you to not expect pro quality pictures with a $300-500 budget; however, that doesn't mean you can't have a bit of fun doing it. My first...

I don't use a D800, but a A99. I shot mostly baseball at the collegiate level. I actually hate shooting in AF-C and typically go for AF-S if I'm going for a batter. If i'm doing a defensive set,...

I don't shoot video at all, but I was asked by a parent at one of the games I was shooting how long of a video I could shoot. I'm assuming it is simply based on the size memory card using. So, if...

I agree with Ken. Sony has image stabilized sensors already. Canon and Nikon bodies do not provide IS so it is part of the lens features for those on Sigma.

As a Clemson fan, but fellow sport photographer, I enjoyed your gallery.

I shoot evening baseball games a lot under stadium lights....which are horrid for it. I use an A77 but looked up the comparison between the ISO of the D7000 & A77. I would start at ISO 400, 3.5f...

That looks to be the same deal announced by Sony last week. Only wish they did back in mid-Feb when I got mine. It is a very nice offer.

Good question...to which I have often wondered. I have asked it of the local college shops in the towns I have lived in and the answer is that because I took or they took, the picture with the...

The day shots are much better, but that is to be expected given the lighting you are dealing with while shooting the night. Is there a way to get the EXIF data to show up for the day shoots also....

I use a MBP 2.26, 750 GB HD, and 8 GB RAM w/ Lightroom and Aperture. I have no problem. Even when it comes to space. I shoot 2000 pictures a baseball game but edit it down to 100-150 a game. I...

Sports is about the only I shoot and I use an a77 and a99. They have served their purposes very well. Most of the other shooters I'm around use a 7D. We switched one day and I can't say there...

Zarasp,What is your approximate budget range?I find that the Sony a57 is a great all around camera. The a58 just came out, but I would not chose it as it is not a true successor or upgrade. The 57...

I try not to crop that close personally. The software that the parents order from allowed them to make their own crops or have them auto selected but that only ended up making a complete mess of...

I use to do 4x6 but now I display 5x7 on my site. Most of this is economical reasons as my printer (Miller's Sports) actually produces 5x7's much cheaper than 4x6. At first I didn't really like...

Amateur Sony Shooter's comments are quite correct on the lens being softer than the Sony 70-400; however, I use the 150-500 and I really do like it. It is quite soft at 500, but I find it to be...
