Very smart. How did you plan this? was it chronologically or were you just shooting what letter or number is available? Congratulations :)
Hi, I think I know what you meant by "exactly" 50mm but to be clear if I do not have a full frame camera and I use an APS-C camera (7D) with my 50mm 1.8 this means my actual focal length is 80mm (50mm x 1.6 crop factor). Therefore my entry is not valid right?
Thanks for clarifying. Sorry if you have to spell it very clear for me.
were u submerged on the water? Oh wait its a D10 and is underwater camera.. I guess you are waiting.. good patience
Thanks, I still think your example is much better than any of my entry :).. Makes me want to get an orange filter. But nowadays PP can help much better.
This is good capture of emotion, have you tried this in B&W. I think it will bring out more of the emotion.
I like this image however maybe this is not on the right challenge. Still a good image and says a lot of things.
I like the selection on this challenge. Very interesting!
Love the story of this image!
Alexring, so does your friend get complementary copy of this wonderful image? In my case any of my images that placed 1-3 in challenges, I give them a print :) ...but no pressure.
Congratulations on this image. I thought this was the most intriguing.
Congratulations Thanasaki. Good capture of light lining the mans face feature.
wow amazing story behind the photo.. was this ever published? Congratulations and happy to know you have recovered.
the problem with this is that only 1 will win :( and the previously 2nd place image of entrants will be 2nd or lower. Good thing that there is still no challenge statistics, otherwise the average can get dragged.
Leonardo Galvani: Beautiful picture.Congratulations!!!
Thanks you for the nice comment :)
dancingjuice: I find the title a little bit questionable, as it provokes a preconceived image of someones life, that we (I) do not know.
Of course, it may be artistic freedom or there is even the possibility of you, who had the chance to talk to this person and hear about a story, that made you think of this title.
Sorry, didn't mean to nit-pick.
It's just, that when I saw this picture, I saw the eyes of a man, who is still dreaming. It's a POV thing, I guess. =)
Nonetheless, a splendid picture.
I admire your honesty on this photo, I give you credit to that. But I have to agree, I do not understand the objective of HDR in this shot. I do believe that a B&W shot enhances the emotion more.
Good timing on capturing the emotion and congratulations still for winning the challenge :)
What a princess :).. THe barbies gave this a good story
I like this shot a lot, very creative
I have the same question on this photo. And honestly I have deducted half a point because of that. Sorry.
Hahahah! THis was the shot that made me not want to join this challenge :) because I know this will win! Very true interpretation! and Funny! Great use of flash? to create shadow. ;)
HI OldArrow, I thought the remaining 10 had only 5 good sunrise shots. I was wondering what happened to the rest until I realized this had the experimental voting. Anyway, it made the voting easier. However I still think some of the remaining 10 had rather bad IQ.
