quite good selection on this series, i've enjoyed voting on them.
Love the documentary and how it was presented, credit to all the people involved. Now maybe I am biased but I think Andria have the right idea on her philosophy about her photography.
love this shot..
love this and was my favorite in this good theme challenge
Tan68: what is digital art? an object created [entirely] in Photoshop or some such? does digital art include things like split tones... ?
My opinion aligns with you about digital art, meaning if there are 2 or more photos combined aka composite to create an image. However if its 1 photo that has the tone of the image changed, specifically for sepia or black and white, I feel this is acceptable. But I am not a host ;) But so far from the challenges this is normally ok. Unless there is strict rule that image must be straight from camera
Jan2009: Will connect have a similar photo contest as DPR challenges, aimed for mobile devices?
Oh Yeah! That flash problem with Jellybean Android, no worries then. I'll mess around with connect :)
Will connect have a similar photo contest as DPR challenges, aimed for mobile devices?
Gully Foyle: It's like listening to a radio station that played metal, managed to get some considerable audience, bought out by a music conglomerate and switched to pop.Nothing against pop, really, it just ain't metal.
I see it as old school more serious photo people will stays with DSLR and black DPR, while the masses with camera phones will use white Connect which is primarily driven by mobile devices.
Good and smart business move. Separate the kids from the not so young kids :)
RuthC: I've been having numerous blood noses lately, but I don't think that's very photogenic..... :-(
I guess a suggestive image of blood will suffice, i.e. an image of a C-section operation ? But with the shade covering/hiding the blood or the operation, i think the idea was to "evoke" feelings of a bloody activity. :) Oh well let us see, I still can't think of something that wont be disgusting.
love this shot.
Yippie, there is actually a panel of judge, so No Sandbagging or family member votes :)
Seriously now, how often will this contest run? is this a one time contest?
Dickerson: I think the host was being a bit creative as Tyme is the old (obsolete) way of spelling Time!
I think Dickerson is right and yes it seems to correlate with the Challenge.
From Wikipedia: The term "olde tyme" is an archaic spelling of the phrase "old time" but commonly used in newer business names, products, or styles.
Another acronym for TYME = Take Your Money Everywhere referred to ATM's.
I think your are much closer to the painting with this texture, very impressive. I love the idea of re-creating paintings in photographs, Maybe that is a good project. Again so far this image stands out.
cute as they alone but herds of em creeps me out :) Eeewwww! no offense on the photo, it just had that reaction on me :) So that is a good shot then.
I think your color shot of this was much nicer.
activa: Is this me only? Trying to upload a photo for last 6 hrs without any success
just uploaded 2 photos didn't have problem. I am using firefox.
fotografiasol: I agree with Gunnlaugur.
Gunnlaugur, thank you for the feedback and honest opinion, I respect that very much. But as a hobby photographer it is likewise part of the thrill, sometimes if not most of the time it takes hardship to capture the image, we capture the 1/125th second of the happy time and hike back for 3 hours :-) hoping when we study the image we have one keeper for the trouble we have had. I didnt think the poster denied the harshness of the landscape, but he wanted to share the amazing experience... thanks for setting the expectation :-) i just asked my wife if I can go to Iceland... she gave me a blank reply :-) ... well better that than an immediate DENIED , as photographer we need to be optimist...
Just superb images and love the intention of sharing the passion on this hobby. Thank you very much, now I am a fan in your facebook page! ;)
I'm just on the first page but I already want to say "Thank you for sharing this" It is indeed a photographers dream to be in such a landscape! I will read on and bug you with questions later :) Love the images already
