Hi, I think I know what you meant by "exactly" 50mm but to be clear if I do not have a full frame camera and I use an APS-C camera (7D) with my 50mm 1.8 this means my actual focal length is 80mm (50mm x 1.6 crop factor). Therefore my entry is not valid right?
Thanks for clarifying. Sorry if you have to spell it very clear for me.

Please listen to RuthC, limiting it to 100 will be so much easier for the voters. This is a good challenge but again if we get even 200 entries it such a drag to vote.

Thanks, I still think your example is much better than any of my entry :).. Makes me want to get an orange filter. But nowadays PP can help much better.

This is good capture of emotion, have you tried this in B&W. I think it will bring out more of the emotion.

Alexring, so does your friend get complementary copy of this wonderful image? In my case any of my images that placed 1-3 in challenges, I give them a print :) ...but no pressure.

the problem with this is that only 1 will win :( and the previously 2nd place image of entrants will be 2nd or lower. Good thing that there is still no challenge statistics, otherwise the average can get dragged.

dancingjuice: I find the title a little bit questionable, as it provokes a preconceived image of someones life, that we (I) do not know.
Of course, it may be artistic freedom or there is even the possibility of you, who had the chance to talk to this person and hear about a story, that made you think of this title.
Sorry, didn't mean to nit-pick.
It's just, that when I saw this picture, I saw the eyes of a man, who is still dreaming. It's a POV thing, I guess. =)
Nonetheless, a splendid picture.
I admire your honesty on this photo, I give you credit to that. But I have to agree, I do not understand the objective of HDR in this shot. I do believe that a B&W shot enhances the emotion more.
Good timing on capturing the emotion and congratulations still for winning the challenge :)

Great capture this and the 2nd placer were my top picks and both had 5* for me
Very smart. How did you plan this? was it chronologically or were you just shooting what letter or number is available? Congratulations :)
