  • Carbon like aluminum comes in different grades.  That said, carbon is generally lighter than aluminum of equal strength.  It also does possess different properties as mentioned earlier.  Vibration ...
  • Replied in K-50 Set Up
Thanks so much for the info.  Looking forward to trying it out.
  • Replied in K-50 Set Up
Appreciate the advice. The current deal at the A store that isn't a river in South America made the whole thing fairly easy.  Just need to get rid of some Nikon gear. How is the 35mm 2.4? Picked it ...
  • Replied in K-50 Set Up
Thanks. Makes me want to go with 18-55 WR initially.  Although, the 18-135 is range I don't currently have, but exactly the kind of insight I'm looking for. I appreciate it.
  • Created discussions K-50 Set Up
OK, this is my first post in this forum, and I am not familiar with Pentax by too much other than name and weather resistance.   I shoot mirrorless a great deal, but my wife still like the DSLR. ...
  • Created discussions 12-24mm on NX1/NX500 or NX300
Anyone have a gallery with images from this lens? Is it fast focusing on the 1 and 500? How does it perform on the 300? I have a trip coming that would make good use of this lens, just haven't ...
  • First, let me say that I am NOT a fan of 3rd party batteries.  I use OEM batteries in all my new cameras.  I have used 3rd party batteries in cameras I have bought used, or when the battery cos ...
  • Your G.A.S. logic is very compelling
  • Replied in Really?
Tamron makes a very good 70-300 for most mounts.  Granted it is a FF lens, but priced like an APS-C.  Not much to distinguish it really.  Semantics.
  • Replied in Really?
Exactly. I'm fairly sure every APS-C camera maker has a some sort of lens in this range except Sammy. Oops, Fuji doesn't, but there is one on their road map. Wait, now there's an idea.
  • The advantage of the wide aperture 300mm is more light in (straight from Duh magazine), but also wildlife folks and sports folks use that focal length A LOT. With wildlife it just seems like ...
  • I don't have the NX30, but the A6000 EVF is mediocre.  Severely lacking the to the NX1, IMHO.  But, in reality until you bounce between the two it doesn't bother me.
  • I would LOVE a 80-400mm f4-5.6, did I mention love?  As for m4/3 I had the Panasonic 100-300mm, which is a good lens, however it takes practice to use, and is much better when used supported in ...
  • I'm tempted, too. I have a BB credit, and eventually want a NX500, but I'm waiting for a price drop in either of the S lenses.
  • I agree the next one will be a bigger update.  I'm usually not an early adopter, but I did with NX1, and I knew the camera was al dente going in, so I have been pleased with the efforts to this ...
  • You do remember that movie ended in a nuclear explosion, right? ;) If I didn't have the NX1 body already I would former do it!
  • Agreed NX1 = NX50 very little point in introducing a crippled NX1.  I think most would rather see a rangefinder EVF model.  I could be wrong though!
  • I'd love to see the S series lenses take a little price drop. Even temporarily.
