I love to see this old Austrian 20 Schilling bill in your test setup! I was using it as a kid...

I shoot 100% RAW. I'm not going to post the original RAW. Will I be disqualified if I post the JPG converted in LR?

I do the same and explained the conversion in the technical details. Even full res jpg cannot be uploaded so a size reduction is mandatory anyway...

Skylane: I find it interesting that photo's of planet earth contain almost no humans.

And the winners focused on the heavens and not on earth...

Mike Ronesia: Definition of SPANGLE

1: a small plate of shining metal or plastic used for ornamentation especially on clothing
2: a small glittering object or particle

And all the other common uses of spangle and spangly but not flags...

Lets add this line to your definition:
3. ( intr ) to glitter or shine with or like spangles

blosshapperter: does the water spangle family Salviniaceae apply also?

Why not, only "spangled flags" are not allowed when reading the rules...

On Mobilephone: large crowds challenge (5 comments in total)

Dear host, yes entry No. 2 (mine) was taken with a Canon EOS m but tried to follow your rules! Obviously not too many people take pictures OF crowds with their mobile phones (4-5 in the chall.) . When seeing this challenge and having recently taken my picture I thought I make this little joke to submit it with my special - but grammatically correct interpretation of the rule: "A crowd taken by mobile phones". If I wanted to cheat it would have been very easy to alter EXIF data and so on. But that was not my intention. So follow your heart.... ;)

On Crowds of mobiles in the Mobilephone: large crowds challenge (7 comments in total)

This was a not very popular challenge; obviously not too many people take pictures OF crowds with their mobile phones. When seeing this challenge and having recently taken this picture I thought I make this little joke to submit it with my special - but grammatically correct interpretation of the rule: "A crowd taken by mobile phones". If I wanted to cheat it would have been very easy to alter EXIF data and so on. For me - and most of us these challenges with their "interesting" marking system are a relaxing hobby and not such a serious endeavor as for you. I would e.g. not invest my spare time to check EXIF data of zillions of pics to look for deviations in the meta data. So now relax, go out and take pictures of crowds WITH your mobile phones (or tablets). ;)

What happened to the stars in the right upper corner? Seem very elongated when compared to the others?

Thanks for explaining. The HST false color palette with line filters is standard but the locally different stars made me wonder. As you said its an expermiment of creative postprocessing... Good luck!

Very strange combination of sharp and blurry, saturated and "gray" stars. I as a (professional) astronomer don't understand how this picture was combined of different exposures...
