There are no silent motors in 4/3. SWD motors are ultrasonic, but not silent. Well, they are quieter than the other ones.
In m43, you are looking for MSC.

The point is that you are wrong.
On sensor PDAF also helps with C-AF and C-AF tracking on m43 lenses, which is a very relevant thing for any m43 camera and any m43 user. Especially "family" users...

To my regret, I have to stand corrected after reading the interview with T. Terrada on the Russian OnFoto site: his answer to the question "Will we see the PDAF on sensor technology on the 'lesser'...

Indeed, soft and "strange" looking. If memory serves, it was soft like motion blur. Could be used as an art filter I guess.

I want this thread closed.

Why would he ? It's most relevant to slr users

As long as you buy the MMF-3 on the same invoice as the E-M1, it will be reimbursed by Olympus. At least while the offer lasts. BH will know when it finishes.
-
$1400 is the right price nowadays.
-
They have been tested in the field, actually.
As I mentioned above, some of the chinese MMF knock offs (the brand was Viltrox or something like that) do every bit the work of the real thing till...

Yup, someone ate a zero :D
By the way, this 1/180 sync speed has always troubled me enough to get with my little crazy theory about all the 1/180 shutters down the Olymous line (E-XXX and all the...
-
The E-1's shutter is "underused", in the sense that it is not seing too much strain - 1/400 max, and most important - only 1/180 flash sync. Then its sound is damped in that solid cocoon it's...

Hello All. First (i believe) post here.
A picture being worth so many words, and for what it's worth:
The only effect of a full day of this treatment to my E-M5 + 12-50mm combo was a huge smile on...

Indeed. I believe that even though he was specifically talking about the article, Goddfrey's reaction was more on this:
That one is utter FUD.
Again - an out of spec adapter will do all sorts of...

I second that. It can be easilly seen on the chinese MMF clones sold on Fleabay. They do a decent job with most lenses, but they can give horrendous results with a 9-18mm or 7-14mm. No such...

If you look at the development of m43 on Olympus' side, the E-PL series (the bread and butter model, basically) has been renewed every 14 to 18 months.
The last, the E-PL5, has been released...
-
This has already been settled. For the moment. No need for more polls.

Any time :)
I don't hang in the m43 forum (never been there, actually), but I do keep myself informed on what m43 offers (options, specs), and I can tell you that, as insulting as it sounds to us...

The one obvious thing is that this logic is absolutely flawed.
The E-M1 has been out for 19 days or so. Not being backed up by the simultaneous release of a lesser, less expensive but still...
