If you did all the above and still got soft image there is some thing wrong with your copy of this lens ,my copy is very sharp handheld .

No optical low-pass filter at this level of the market ? Most people in this market segment are amateur whom want nothing to do with moire and the extra time required fix it in pp.

macro four third is the best compromise between size and IQ so far.

sorry about your lost but there is nothing can replace both in one lens , you can get 24-70 used for not much more than new 24-105 and for the 70-200 there are several options one is 70-200 2.8 non...

to me this camera is just oh ok

i think this lens will be very poplar , lots of people are looking for smaller and less wight 24-70 than 2.8 version ,i for one hope this baby perform good optically it will awesome landscape...
