SantaFeBill: Just a note to posters: The article is questioning Nikon's _strategy_, not the camera per se.

It looks like Nikon is saying: let's do a crappy mirrorless system in order to protect our dslr sale.

jonikon: Based on the DPR review of the A7, it is obvious that Sony has overreached with their new line of full frame mirrorless FE cameras. which can not even match the capabilities of Nikon and Canon DSLRs introduced over a year ago.
If Sony still has any ambitions of taking FF market share away from Nikon and Canon after this fiasco , they will have to do a lot better than this feeble attempt of mediocre bodies and FE lens selection. Maybe Sony should instead stick with what they do best, whatever that may be.

"which can not even match the capabilities of Nikon and Canon" What are u speaking here? This is about a mirrorless camera where Canon and Nikon are nonexistent, zero , nada. DPR is wrong comparing Sony A7 with canikon slr camera. And Sony is making the best sensors , you enjoy your Nikon coz it got a Sony heart inside, therefore is good Sony is sticking with digital photography.

Matt1645f4: @ Shawn Barnett "added to the Rebel's well-established quality it's a clear gold award." How??? DXO scoring system which DPR seems happy to mention frequently rates the 100D's sensor at 63!! a full 16 points lower than the Pentax K50 (which is weather sealed) and its Big Brothers the K5/5II/5IIs which is scored 82. The only APS-C cameras with a higher score are the Nikon D5200 & 7100. So please tell me how its image Quality is Well established? i've tried a Canon 700D and was far from impressed with its quality over my Pentax K5's.

Canon 100D deserved Gold award because is a Canon! The image quality isn't that important :) .

glarry: You Simon Joinson did it again! It isn't first time u (DPR’s reviews) mention about live view and micro 4/3 cameras, if you want to be fair all Sony (here including classic mirror SLR) got fast LV. I have Sony A580 and what u see in LV is what you get. I tried a Nikon SLR, u push the shutter, the photo is coming after 2 seconds, meantime other people are in your frame.

I forgot to mention: good, comprehensive review!

Nikon want to catch up Sony (rx-1,rx-100), this is a good idea. Nice to have some light weight camera with good quality, but the price is too high.

I have 2 close friends waiting eagerly to buy this Nokia (for video and special for photos). It’s a long waiting list for Nokia 808 to that shop. At least the photos from this camera are very good, big step ahead compared to other phones photos.
