No manual focus...just Aperture/Speed
I bought a brand new XZ-1 yesterday...and got it back today for repair. So not much experience yet.

Yep....and still in your old post you state "Always has." So, not quite..;)
-
Who cares... And still, as you know better, please tell us about the first version of TC17, i.e. model before TC17EII???

I have had at least a dozen different remotes, both wireless and wired, for Nikon 2-pin and 10-pin connector. Both Nikon and third party, most of the third party Chinese. The Nikon connector is a...

Well, you have already had some answers to this. I hope you don't get offended by this. I am sincere by saying:If you have to ask and don't know yourself the reason to invest to more expensive...

I envy your enthusiasm for a D5200....I don't see why... I am not seeing anything special really. Well, some people get excited even for a new pair of shoes. I hope that you don't start too many...

Nothing really new here...All those carbon (or carbon looking?) lens hoods for Nikon teles have been priced "quite high" for some time. There just might be a market for third party lens hoods,...

JPG comparisons compare not only sensor but also in-camera processing...well, if you shoot JPG, then it might of interest to you. Well. I shoot only RAW. When looking at RAW, D5200 looks like...

Well, you already got some good advice. First of all, first try suggested options that don't write/change anything to the CF.Then, as you say: "I grow tired of errors and faults with CF and the...

That is such a bad analogy! Using Auto vs. Man exposure might be like that. You can get the same result with different means if you shoot NEF with either way. Just like you get from place A to B...
-
As simple as that. I you are not happy with handling NEF, shoot JPG+NEF and store the NEF for later use. If you take this even semi-seriously, ever, you will be very happy having tjhose NEF-files....
-
Agree. Pretty much. That is however not the real issue.Lot of VISIBLE losses have already happened in the camera if shooting JPG only.

Beats me. Maybea. Looks cool and "pro" even with 10$ plastic lens on itb. Many people just have to get the latest toyPhotography hobby has changed from taking photos into gadget orientated hobby...

Way too fast shutter speed ..for my taste anyway. Makes it look static and background too "detailed". The only way you can guess there is movement is the fact that it is not touching the ground.

Agreed. With "TC2III was specifically designed for the 300 2.8 VRII" I got the impression that you meant that there is a difference n optical quality between the VRI and VRII (when used with TC20EIII).
-
I have seen many statements like this so many times. This idea kind of proposes that VRI and VRII are not optically the same? MOST people at this forum seem to believe that they optically...
-
Exactly...for most. Not the VRI, don't know about the VRII.For the OP. It does not make you blind to read the manual. It's not too much trouble and it tells how YOUR lens behaves. Here you will get...

I do have VR-off on a tripod. BUT that is NOT quite this simple. Many VR lenses MUST have the VR off on a tripod, like 70-200/2.8 VRI. And that is already said in the instruction manual. This not...
