ManuelVilardeMacedo: It scares me to think people are actually buying these apps. While I can see some fun in using Motion Shot, the Light Shaft app is completely absurd. People should learn to photograph instead of relying on these thingies to make their pictures more (superficially) striking.
People like to use their money to make themselves or family & friends happy. They are not going to care fake or not fake. They are not going to say: "look, there were 5 skiers doing simultaneous jump. I took that picture." kind of stuff. Just have fun. why so rigid.

io_bg: Sony seem to be on the right direction. On a personal tone: I'd love them to make a bigger body with a better hand grip. Coming from a mid-sized DSLR all these NEXes feel just too small.
when it is small, you can add grips, brackets to make it big to fit your hand.
if it is too big, you cannot make it smaller to fit your hand.
so smaller is better.

this saved it from becoming a paper weight, why not. anyway they didn't boil the whole lens. just the barrel part & it was not pure water, chemical added to remove rust.

Fox Fisher: No matter how much people complain, it won't change the fact that its the best camera on this size. Sony saw an empty segment on the market and filled it and they succeded. Where was canon or nikon for all these years?
Why people are so afraid of the change? Why people are scared shitless about it? People said the same thing about SLT system too but it works out justs as fine. If you don't like it just don't buy it but respect the ones who buy it because they dared something you could not, went ahead and bought it.
If they believe in one thing from one side for their whole life, then if something come along from another side and which is better than whatever that side they have believed in can produce, they feel scared. Because if they admit that new thing is better, it would mean they have been dumb ass in the wrong faithfulness for their whole life. In a state of denial, they would attack the new thing for any flaws so that they can feel a sense of comfort that what they hold dearly is better.
This applies to religious beliefs & also fanbois of any brand.

How much it costs to pimp up Nex-7?

samhain: Just out of curiosity- why would you not put an optical view finder in a FF camera? Are there pros(or anyone) who said "I don't want an OVF"? Won't having full time evf drain the battery fast? I just don't get it... I know why people like evf, but who doesn't like a big FF OVF?
to have through the lens optical view finder you will need prism & mirror. Prism is big and mirror slaps.

cpkuntz: Why do they use 2 mp sensors? Robust build? The Apollo mission used Hasselblads. Why not get some medium format goodness on board one of these rovers?
higher transmission rate also requires much higher power.

forsakenbliss: I would think this camera is a rushed-out product. Either...too lazy to properly design the mirrorless internal specs or do not have the means to do so.
Look very much like taking one of the existing DSLR, remove the mirror & prism..get some unknown to design the outer shell...and wooh-lah...Pentax is now officially in the mirrorless league...
yup, that explains. he never designed a camera before. honestly, he should stick to designing anything but camera.

IcyVeins: These prizes are so political. why don't they give a prize to someone who takes a nice positive photograph instead of people who are using photography to further political narratives? A crying girl is hardly "breaking news."
same thing as the current Nobel Prize system. Some choices of candidates are very politically driven.

Or rather by a meteor or a fake alien ship?
three are the same isn't it.

sammy_j: make the image sensor larger. thats the obvious step here. I don't care about megapixels.
But I'm sure samsung knows the general public does.
you do know larger sensor needs larger lens right?
Get a camera. solve your larger sensor problem.

Is it me or my computer?
Lately the image samples are not so good in terms of IQ, composition, object selected...compare to past years.

KimTeo: An unrealistic picture.
If water is just dripping off the fish, it would have been a split second from getting it off the water, and yet the bird is just sitting there.
If the droplet is that large, it will have to be a very viscous liquid, like treacle. For it to be water, the drop would have to be very much smaller.
KimTeo, you are right. That's if, what you know is all the World is made of.
Just a hint to you, the fish would have a mouthful of water before it opened it's mouth again just after being caught by the kingfisher.
A mouth full of water is definitely quieter than a mouth half full. Likewise to the content in the skull. Pua Tang Jui (in your dialect) is louder.
got the download.
thank you for the christmas gift!
Merry Christmas, Uwe.
