I'm pretty sure that's chimping ... and I seriously doubt that anyone can assert that all pro photographers chimp by need and as a matter of course ...
You found a sample of a Canon that you like....

Actually, it is not a sweet spot per se ... but rather a threshold. Right now, the m4/3 16mp sensors have crossed the threshold where the D90 / D300 sat only 3 or 4 years ago ... thus, anyone who...

The Panny version (which he no doubt has since he shoots the G5) is f/5.6 ... I agree that the Oly lens is hopeless ... but the Panny lens is a bit better ... still, it is the contrast detect AF...

A modern entry dSLR like the D5100 and the 70-300VR are going to be far quicker to track the bird and will cost the same or less new ... so it is quite unlikely that a mirrorless camera is going to...

Agreed ... the G3 or GX1 and the pair of Sigmas 2.8 at 19mm and 30mm would be that price and an amazingly useful kit as well ...

I like the choice of dSLR style bodies too ... so for me, the decision was and remains Panny bodies and m4/3 lenses ... I dumped FF, then APS Nikon gear because I wanted great video and smaller...

Sorry ... I missed this earlier ...
1) Start by resetting the camera in the menus.
2) Ensure your battery is really fully and is holding a charge.
3) Make sure you set AF on single.
