  • There are some incredibly helpful and constructive posters as well though!  I've certainly learnt a chunk of things here...
  • Replied in Thanks
Just a quick thanks for everyone who has offered such helpful advice. I have a bit more now to go away and think about.  And it would probably be sensible to see if I can find some of the lenses...
  • Yes I think I'm heading in that direction. The K5 is more than enough for just about everything I use it for, and I'm not one to upgrade at every stage.

  • Yes exactly right, I'm looking for high quality, low weight & size, f2.8 and all for a reasonable price. Can't imagine why no one thought to make such a lens :) I guess I'm sceptical that another...

  • Thanks - and yes I might have to consider my lens choice as the photos are typically small, eg 2" x 3" (or 5.5cm x 8cm in new money), dating from early 1900s through to the 60s.  Excuse to by a...
  • Created discussions Copying photographs
I have a large number of old photos to copy. I've tried scanning, and it works well with some but the direct light seems to cause reflections/wash-out with others. I dont want to send them away as...
  • Is this true? It hadn't occurred to me.  I have assumed you may get focus shift when zooming, ie I have avoided zooming in to try to focus more accurately then zooming out again to take the...
