You keep blathering about the 35 f1.8; that's not even close to a f1.2. Look up f1.2 lenses and see how much they cost, regardless of format and then consider that the new lens is list price, not...

So, because it didn't get a gold award and there may be one or two cameras that are marginally better, depending on who is reviewing it, it's an also ran or failure by implication? How in the world...

Oh, you're all hopeless fanboys! ;)

Nice shots J-P, you have a V1 again? How is the focussing with the Tamron 70-300? It certainly looks sharp enough.

I already had a 10mm and the LW46 was bought used and cheap on Amazon so it was a good deal for me. Can't afford the 6.7-13 for a long time. The 10/LW combo is better at f5.6 than wide open; it...

Yeah, pretty ugly.--Regards, PaulLili's Dad

Here's a set with the 10mm + LW46, 10mm, 18.5mm + LW46, 18.5mm. They are basically JPG straight out of camera with the wider shots given a little "shadow & highlights" to brighten the corners so...

Do you mean an actual 50-500, or the equivalent? Even in CX format an actual 50-500 wouldn't be "very little" unless it was very slow too.

Almost every digital camera I have had or still have overexposes (as far as I'm concerned) in bright sunlight and I routinely set negative exposure comp when I head outdoors before I ever take a...

The real damage seems to be price vs performance. The Canon 70-300 DO is 28% shorter than the regular 70-300 consumer model but way more expensive and no better optically.

The 18.5 is plenty sturdy and the resulting FL is equivalent to 37.5mm. I'll shoot a few samples and post when it's daylight again.--Regards, PaulLili's Dad

The WC-E67 looks rather small in diameter which may or may not indicator whether it will work. I also use the DMW-LW46 like Steve and it works fairly well but is kind of soft in the corners, at...

Same experience here regarding the 30-110 and with 70-300 zooms.

Thanks for the follow ups on the subject. When I shoot close up or macro, I usually use manual focus or "lock and rock" meaning I lock focus and then move the camera back and forth until the area...

Did you mean to direct this at me? I don't remember saying anything derogatory re DXO. And really, do you think DXO hates Nikon 1? That's not a very rational thought about an objective...

300 f4 VR. I know it won't be a lot smaller than the existing 300 f4 AFS but it will be native CX, meaning full functionality and will have VRÂ :-) A diffractive optics design could significantly...

+1 for the polarizer when I want to accentuate clouds or subdue glare from water. Very occasionally use a ND filter on a fast lens outdoors to get shallow DOF.

The main problem? what problem? You seem to have a problem with people in their designated forum enjoying and being enthusiastic about their choice. Granted a lot of people "discovered" the 1...

Well 10mm is almost smack dab in the middle of 6.7-13 and VR doesn't stop action. That's all I got.

Don't be damned, be happy! I really don't know why I tried this and I don't understand why matrix doesn't handle this properly. I may just try leaving the camera on centerweighted for a while to...
