do you have iLife? its bundled in iLife.
what I do is to use iMove to create and edit movie, (if needed, use FCP), and export the finished videos to iDVD to create titles.

On the second thought, both R2880 and R1800 are outdated. If you can find a good used one, perhaps you can give it for another 2 years before it dies.

According to swiftink website, it sounds like they are loading their own inks to original cart.
Not sure how but it should not be refillable.
As far as R3000, I always suggest people to take a look...
