Fully agree, h3csc. What exactly were you disagreeing with on my post?

"An advantage of using the GH2's sensor is that the G6 is able to offer more comprehensive video functions than the G5." The G5 also had the GH2 sensor, so any differences in video capabilities...

Well, the G5 had a silent shutter mode with full resolution so I expect the G6 will do. Haven't looked at the specs though yet.

I wonder if that method will improve my photography too!? Sometimes I'm sure a great sunset should be there but it doesn't seem to be!
-
Found it by trial and error! Seeing this thread made me try a few things - I thought turning the camera off and on again may work but it didn't, so I gave some other methods a shot and got...

Just found it - whilst displaying the green magnification square press and hold OK to recentre. Doesn't work whilst magnified though

That's a great idea! Prevents lenses rattling around into each other - might have to give that a go.

I think the E-M5 has problems focussing the 20mm in low light. I find that with mine, whereas my old Panasonic G3 had no problems focussing on the same objects in the same lighting using the same...

Not according to the evidence in this thread. Good information from Guy and Paul - many thanks.

You're welcome tex. *smiles sweetly*
Note I've also amended the initial post with some further results.

I said the 20 isn't as fast as other lenses if you do lock focus and blast away. This is fully supported by my test results - not sure how you could say otherwise.
However the test was at F5.6 of...

Interestingly the 20 isn't as fast as other lenses if you do lock focus and blast away. I thought this was the case having used it so I've just tried an experiment. Using my E-M5 in Sequential...

I use the Sirui T-1205X with the C10 head and likewise would buy the same again. Very sturdy whilst being transportable. My review of the T-1205X and T-025 can be found here.
How did you mount...

I don't think so - surface area (i.e. amount of light coming through a hole) is proportional to the square of the radius, not linearly proportional. Therefore for twice the surface area (twice the...

By all accounts good lenses, great for the price. From memory of trawling through here though I believe any camera they are mounted on takes much longer to power up. I think it's 2-3 seconds,...
-
Indeed. It is a cracking little lens.
Whereas in my opinion the slower focussing speed is comparatively more of an issue than CA or low-light banding. I very rarely notice CA on my copy and have...

I'd also strongly recommend the Panasonic 20mm. It's my standard lens on the E-M5 and has the following strengths:
Sharp at all apertures, high contrast
Small (considerably smaller than the P25...

The GX1 is the same internally as the G3 I used to have, and I now have an OM-D. Both cameras turn on and off very quickly indeed. Everything else involved with changing lenses takes much, much...

Which is simply not true. Fuel economy, for example.

And the G3. I found it useful on my G3 for close-ups and as has already been mentioned for picking a bird through twigs. It's one thing the G3 did better than the E-M5 I have now.
