The lens switching problems has made me a a two camera guy, as I hate changing lenses in the field. As yet the other is a Sony NEX-5N with the Zeiss 1.8/24 (equals a 12.5 on the V1, and is a superb...

I'd go for the 6.7-13, 18.5 & 30-110, for sure! If there is room (space, and monetary) I bring the FT1 adapter, and the AF-S VR 70-300, excellent combo for parks, shy animals, and birds on the...

Nice shots! Yeah, the 18.5 rocks!
-
I have no experience of making videos of fights, but I can tell you that bigger sensor is better, although in good light the V1 is a real pearl!
EOSHD, experts of video, not least HD, swears by the...

Jon,
I am in your group, evidently!
I think I've used the articulated LCD on my NEX maybe ten times, at the very most, and the articulated viewfinder thousands of times - I'd love an articulated...
-
The advantage of the NEX range (I am a happy user of the 5N model) is focus peaking, and the excellent viewfinder, and the articulated display. For me an articulated viewfinder works just as well...

Before the arrival of the 18.5 & 32, there was no faster lens for the Nikon 1 system than the 10!
Enjoy experimenting (wouldn't dare to do it with, say, professional Zeiss lenses, or Leica lenses,...

Sadly, there is nothing like the 32/1.2 in the world of my D600, at any price! Nothing that fast exist: The 32/1.2 is one step faster than the 85/1.8G, and each fraction of a step down from 1.8...

Bokeh with the 30-110 is awesome, and if you like to make macros, the smaller sensor means better DOF, just what you need when doing macro. I have a D600 and getting decent macro with that one is a...

I think Daisy hit the jackpot, that the camera has to be better first and foremost, maybe a FT1 II would be helpful, but don't bet on it!
-
Yep, but the 35 isn't the sharpest lens out there - the 32 promises to be much better! But till we see tests this is just hopeful thinking!
-
The 35/1.8G is not quite as sharp, but that's what I use too! My most used lens on the V1 is the AF-S VR 70-300, no doubt about that!
The 32 promise to be an extremely sharp lens (no the wish list)!

I use a little older 24" iMac that I plan to upgrade further, soon, with a static hard disc (SSD) instead of its normal hard disc (modern iMac can be fitted with a fusion drive, a combination of...

Generally, the lenses have to have an motor, as the V1 , nor the FT1, can power focusing. SO, you need either AF-S, or manual focus lenses. AF-S with VR, works well, including their anti-shake!...
-
It has to be an AF_S to work on a Nikon 1 camera so the example of an AF-D doesn't work does it?!
-
I have a D600 that I love, but who knows, maybe I'll exchange it for the next generation Nikon 1 V cameras, possibly with 20MP, and 4K capability for more than 2 seconds at a time!
-
Craig, I have the AF-S VR 70-300 for similar work (birding time is here, hurrah!) - slightly slower, slightly less resolution, but superb anyway!
-
Easier the other way round! Say put a wide converter on the excellent 18.5 ;-)! Just did that with the 10 and that worked very well. Adding a teleconverter, to increase focal length, lowers the...

I have this Panasonic DMW-DWC1 0.79X adapter for quite a while, and tried it on the 18.5 and various other lenses, and cameras, but today I decided to try it again on the 10, which had failed, due...

Lucas is totally correct, as there is an abyss between lenses capable of f1.8 and lenses that manage f1.2, or better. If you're a Pentax guy, you'll be very happy with if your lens is capable of...
