My 1970's Kodak 110 Instamatic was capable of photographing dogs. What an odd question.

By a mile.
Although I don't shoot video I have read from those who do that the GH3 is among the best VFM in terms of a video camera that there is just now.
It's certainly a very good stills camera.

I'm pretty sure that anyone who shoots for Magnum is more than aware of how to use their cameras...

Gear makes things easier and/or allows you to do things that cannot be done with other gear.
The gear you need totally depends on what you shoot. Tripods, for example, are essential to landscape...

I quite agree. My Nikons are less than my GH3 (12Mp) and no client has yet complained that the files are too small for commercial use.
The camera was described as 'wonderful' and is now being...

Not for all the tea in China.
Why? Because I am somewhat of a misanthrope. All those people put my teeth on edge.

Mmmm. You'd have to say there might be a skill/equipment mismatch here somewhere..!

Nice to see the Lysander.
I used to live near Duxford and got to watch the practice runs for weeks ahead as I sat in the garden with Test Match Special on the radio...!

It's not anecdotal, it's reported fact by an eye witness - me!
The three photographers there were Ian Berry, Eli Reed and Chris Steele-Perkins.
I already own the GH3. I am merely reporting this...

Nope. Not one I can blame on the glass at any rate.
Why would you want a reason not to buy something? It's a very good lens. My only complaint is that it is not f2 or even f 1.4.

Depending on the camera, foul weather should no longer be an issue.
I shot last week in Sydney during a rain storm for 2 hours with no protection on my GH3 whatsoever. It's fine.
I had the 35-100...

Of more interest to me is how many professionals adopt something like this.
Amateur sales are of little value to anyone other than the marketing department of a manufacturer to prove how good their...

I don't have any links to his images specifically shot on that camera if that is what you mean.
He told me that he replaced a Nikon D700 based kit that he could no longer tolerate the weight of...

I presume you have Fed Ex where you are and can therefore in fact return it at any time whilst it it is under warranty?
The best suggestion I could give you is to ask your friend to take it to...

For what? A more interesting pet?

I just finished a week long workshop led by three Magnum photographers.
Anyone still doubting if M43 IQ is 'up to it' may be interested to know that one of those photographers now carries 2 Lumix...

Pretty fed up with the US centricity of this site!
-
I claim it and I make my living doing it. At least, I claim that the are only rarely necessary and only if you do certain things or use certain equipment. Not all photographers do.
US humanitarian...

Which was clearly too slow as the shot is not sharp even with a tripod...!

I own one, but use it so seldom that I sometimes wonder why I do.
It really depends on what you shoot. I once carried one for over a month around India and never used it once.
I've never taken one...
