Thanks for the feedback Andrew.  I agree with your comments about the horizon.  The steps at the bottom are partially buried by sand and pebbles.  The steps are part of the sea wall defences and ...
  • Replied in Sprinkler Fun
I like the way the sprinkler puts the background into blurred focus which probably wouldn't have been the case for f8 without that.   The b&w conversion works but I would like to see the original.
  • I like this delicate shot of a green "sand dune" landscape.  Well done.

    With my trusty E3
  • Two saxes and three mouths. EM1 and 50-200mm F/Thirds EM1 and 50-200mm F/thirds
  • Nice shot.  Personally I would have liked to see the entire moth in the shot, but this is a minor thing. Well done.
  • Replied in Choir
Shot at the Llangollen Music Festival in North Wales recently. EM1 and 50-200m fthirds
  • This is excellent.  Love the sky.  Is this the Panasonic 7-14mm mfthirds lens or the big Olympus 7-14mm that you have on your EM1?
  • I totally agree with your comment on trying different options.  Thanks for your input!
  • Hi, Thanks for this.  I like the crop but I am not sure about the lightening of the shadows.  My preference tends to be for contrasty b&w.

Thanks for your comments.  For me there are two main things of interest in the first snap:  the colour; the curves of arches and steps.  I waited until someone walked into frame because I was ...
  • Really like this.  Particularly the buildings on a diagonal.  A striking image.
  • I like this Andrew.  Works for me.  I don't find the desaturation overt.  A striking image.
  • Three shots from me this week.   First from North Wales, an extra splash of colour to a snap that I showed a few weeks back.  Then a b&w conversion as suggested by YYR.  Finally one from the ...
  • Replied in Holidays
No.  Otherwise he would be running very fast to escape, probably chased by a very big white ball.
  • Replied in YYR
Well spotted re. the black and white conversion.   I agree with the curves and arches comment.  I will have a go at that and post the result if there is any space left on the thread. Not sure ...
  • Is sharpness everything?  Clearly not, you just have to look at the great photographers of the last century to realise that isn't the case. Your attitude seems spot on to me.
  • Good shot with excellent use of depth of field.
  • Replied in Korean Dancing
Good stuff.  Nice compositions which are helped by a non-distracting backdrop.  I am impressed by the lens.  There is no equivalent in Olympus mthirds lenses as far as I am aware. Maybe Santa will ...
  • Replied in Solidaritat
I like this.  Nice and sharp. Good depth of field.  Interesting that the Berliners are protesting about the "fascists" involvement from Russia in Ukraine.  The Russian separatists in eastern ...
