Thank you for your positive comments.  This was, indeed, shot in a museum, but the museum inhabits the main Victorian workshops of the Dinorwig slate quarry in North Wales which was closed in 1969. ...
  • A beautiful image.  Love the pink tones.  In particular I like the textural difference between the pink clouds and the super smooth water where the sea has gone out.  I also like the position of ...

Lovely image Lou.  I like the positioning of the horizon, low down in the composition. The tents give a good counter balance to the vivid sky.
  • A shot of a demonstration of slate splitting which is still carried on today in the preparation of roof slates exported from North Wales all over the world. In the background a b&w photograph of ...

First of all many thanks for taking the time to comment.  For me, the photograph is about colour (particularly the vividness of the yellow and the overall sharpness of components such as the chain ...
  • Very effective.  A splash of colour against a grey surround.

I like the way the sprinkler puts the background into blurred focus which probably wouldn't have been the case for f8 without that.   The b&w conversion works but I would like to see the original.
  • I like this delicate shot of a green "sand dune" landscape.  Well done.

  • Nice shot.  Personally I would have liked to see the entire moth in the shot, but this is a minor thing. Well done.

Shot at the Llangollen Music Festival in North Wales recently. EM1 and 50-200m fthirds
  • This is excellent.  Love the sky.  Is this the Panasonic 7-14mm mfthirds lens or the big Olympus 7-14mm that you have on your EM1?
  • I totally agree with your comment on trying different options.  Thanks for your input!
