  • Is this the Alhambra in Granada, Yaelle?  I really like this shot, best viewed at its original size.  It looks like a giant eye with that mesmerising sky. Good stuff.

Thanks Lou.  I prefer your version with the side verticals adjusted.
  • Nice shot, Charles.  Good for Halloween.  Thank God for ketchup!  Err, it was ketchup wasn't it?  Cue background music to Hitchcock shower scene in Psycho!
  • Very appealing colour to offset the greyness of the rest of the photograph.  Pity about the camera, otherwise it would have looked like a Buddhist monk meditating  on the glories of the Icelandic ...

I like this Stephen.  Good depth of field.  The figure seems comfortable on the third.  Personally I don't mind the absence of the feet.  Doesn't bother me.   A splash of colour perhaps in the ...

THanks for that.  There is obviously a sea of possibilities with photo editing software.  However personally, and given that I am incredibly biased, I prefer the original. Cheers
  • Fair comment, Roel.  On reflection, I think your take on the subject of changes  is correct.

I like the conversion.  Alas the person wearing shades with a white frame seems to be more of a distraction in the bw conversion than it does in the original.

Interesting.  I like the crop but not the lightening of the face.  It is not how I remember it so this goes back to my point about adjusting photo journalism type shots.

Thanks for commenting.  I guess I am trying to tell a story.  The bloke in the Bhakti means..... tee shirt is sat outside a Hare Kriishna café in London.  Bhakti is a key part of their religious ...

I think you are right Zin.  It could do with a tighter crop.  CHeers.

Thanks for the feedback.  I understand where you are coming from.  The victor is the only one who is not in direct light.  If he had been in the direct sunlight, I think the photograph would have ...
  • care less about what is going on behind.  The bloke balancing the tree on his forehead adds to that quirkiness. Rules are to be broken.  Good stuff

The winner of a triathlon gets congratulated. EM1 and 50-200mm
  • Good shot.  The black clothed musician stands out really well.  I like the way you have St Pauls and the City skyline in the background. The dog sets it off well.  Perhaps a couple in a suit and ...

I prefer the colour version with the different shades of brown.  A well exposed image which with the background looks almost like a studio background. Nice capture.

  • Thanks for your detailed response.  I agree with you that the key parts of the photograph are the hands and the text. And I like the way your crop addresses that. In retrospect, I should have taken ...
