The Tokina 12-24mm f4.0 is the only zoom I own - or intend on owning.
I considered getting the 11-16mm f2.8 to gain the extra stop of light, but after trying it - I just didn't want to give up the...

+1
Overpriced fast cards are still limited by the cameras write speed.
Better to get more of the std versions, or ... save up for a 12-24mm f4.0 Tokina ultra wide to wide normal zoom - WOW ......

Agree.
Additionally, the inability to effectively use excellent legacy Nikon glass make the current Nikon Consumer dSLRs far too limiting, imo.
I don't shoot video, but if I was going to -...

Congrats on your excellent choice of equipment!
I use my D200s for low light work quite a bit - no problem.
My personal tests have me limiting my ISO to 500 max. Beyond this, the noise gets a bit...

One person really can & does make a difference, so it really does depend on who gets the reigns.
Anybody that is likeable enough to get the job - is likely NOT visionary enough, &/or tough enough...

+1 Long live CF! While the State of the Art here certainly isn't affordable or needed by most users, the development of the media means its still a viable technology - a good thing for all...

Good catch JC, personally, I agree.
I still use 2 D200's, & I wouldn't trade mine straight across for 2 comparable D300s. But then again, for low light work I'm generally shooting f1.4 - f1.8...

With DX the FOV is apx the same as a 75mm on FX, so, your right - it is a excellent portrait focal length. 85mm is a nice lens, but won't be a significant advantage over your 105mm. Save your $$$...

Don't wait until you have a problem - keep your eye out for a well cared for low milage example of your body of choice - & get it. Don't settle for a poorly cared for, or well used example - be...

+1 Too sweet! Long live CF. Cheers.

Yeah, it's looking pretty cool, especially now - after Apples MARGINAL upgrades to their "NEW" phones.
As this interesting SONY technology matures, maybe Apples serious lagging in their camera...

I dunno, but when they first announced iOS7 @ the Developers Conference earlier this year - I looked virtually EVERYWHERE to get an idea HOW MUCH more of the iOS devices limited MEMORY it would...

Ah, just noticed ... NO RAW (RAW+JPG) ... too bad! Micro-SD is a bit of a shame too, though understandable for the package ... Cheers. imo

Ah, just noticed ... NO RAW (RAW+JPG) - (which the RX100 II does have) ... too bad! Micro-SD is a bit of a shame too, though understandable for the package ... Cheers. imo

Ah, just noticed ... NO RAW (RAW+JPG) - (which, I just checked & the RX100 II does have) ... too bad! Micro-SD is a bit of a shame too, though somewhat understandable given the package size...

I'm seriously liking this concept. Too bad though ... there's no SONY dealers nearby likely to offer these super flexible cameras ... & too bad too that SONY has their MSRP mindset. Still ... I...

+1 This acquisition has REAL potential - I like it. Hopefully MS can secure some truly Visionary Leadership at the top (Ford, Gates, Jobs, Ellison, etc) ... Capable of Executing on the first...

Haven't tried one yet - but it may have possibilities! +1 ... ... for SONY actually INNOVATING - vs so much of the industry std "me too" faux "innovation" ... lol ... Cheers.

"It's all good."
Pick the system - then your choice will be apparent.
