It would be nice to be proven wrong, but since Sony has been releasing the 20mp HX cameras, I don't seem them going down with the RX line.Also, Sony is not really known for making fast zoom lenses...

I agree, the Pool Ball shot is decent. It even has an OK amount of detail (instead of 100% smearing) on the felt infront of the balls.

The general theory suggests that RAW has more recoverable detail in highlights and shadows, which gives you much more leeway in post processing.In addition, RAW can also result in higher quality...
