It was indeed the standard, as was Nikon, the rule being that you used Nikon for telephoto stuff and Leicas for normal and wideangle, where rangefinder focusing can be an advantage (which is...

I shall, and will note back here what the result is, if any.

I agree with you, which was the point of my note: that so many people around here are so busy whinging about theoretical sharpness that the purpose of the exercise -- making photographs -- is...

The address I used in creating my DPReview login is about to disappear, and I'd like to change it. I see that in the settings I can change just about everything else, but I've found no way to...

It's a small outfit, seven employees, but they have been great and very welcoming to flickr refugees. They even have tools that will pretty painlessly import your flickr photostream. And the site...

Moral of the story: people don't like change when it's for the worse (going, say, from healthy to cancerous) and do like change when it's for the better (going from cancerous to healthy), a...

It matters to those of us who went to some trouble to think of and use flickr as a serious site rather than a place where underage drinkers can prove that their telephones don't take very good...

Like you, I shot (and still do from time to time) D200s. Got a D7100; have the lenses you mention plus the 12-24, 105 f1.8, and a variety of others. And could not be happier.

You could put many pictures on toilet paper, too, but who would want to?
Their new model is to sell ads and users be damned.

And the horse they rode in on.

If they want to make it an option to look like the worst of the Tumblr layouts, fine. Pulling this crap on paying customers, though, isn't.
I would go into some detail, but I think DPR's rules...

Lord. Without warning, Flickr has changed the format of every page, made navigation near-impossible, tried desperately to become the worst of the Tumblr layouts -- and announced that they're...

Thanks. I'm not really a bird guy . . . except for one bird, which I missed four or five years ago. One rainy morning I looked out and there, on the post holding up a corner of the back porch no...
