Prashant Bande: Is the bee dead? Its on very awkward angle with the flower.
No its not dead, its very much alive
please note that break waters and bridges do not count as jetties or piers.
Mike Ronesia: Must it be a competitive sport, or anything athletic? Is hang gliding a sport if you just do it for fun?
i can see what you mean, but i was reffering to competivive sports for this challange.
Wildbegonia: Better monitoring by host for this challenge is needed. Lots of entries are not in accord with challenge's rules
i go through in the first day or two of voting and disqualify all images that need to be and check dates of all images at the one time.
Just because the Heading is birds does not mean the photos have to have More than one bird in the photo, ONE bird is fine.
brianj: I give up, I have been disqualified twice now for different images without a reason, obviously I am missing something, but I am past trying to figure out what it is!
yes, i can see the date which has been recorded on here but i can not view the original data from the picture.
as my comment below states if there is no EXIF information on the photo it will be DQ'ed
OldArrow: "Marine" would suggest saltwater only. Am I right? Rgds
yes you would be correct, salt water only.
If there is no EXIF infomation on the photo it will be DQ'd (unless something has been organised) as date can not be checked.
all images with fake dates and times have been deleated. waiting for reply from some people reguarding no data about there images.
I have went throught the top 10 images and DQ'ed those who had cheated by editing the capture date of there image.
Boasty911: Colpro: thanks for the definition, you are totally correct. many of the photos are defentily not of ponds, half look more to be a picture of the side of a lake or river trying to making it look like its a pond.
DuaneV: It may be called Great pond but at that size it would be classified as a lake anywhere.
NOTE TO ALL CONTESTANTS
many of the photos that have been submitted are not ponds, or are in my opinion sides or portions of a river or lake made to look like a pond. for those of you who have done this plz be awear my challange next week is rivers and the one after that is lakes, so if you have done this plz be fair and withdraw your images and save them for those challanges.
I will be going throught all the images again soon and will disqualify any images that i belive not to be a pond, or where there is no way of telling if they are a pond or not to make it fair to the competitors who have obided to the rules.
DuaneV i can understand what you mean, where large bodies of water have been called ponds everywhere is different. but pond is ment to be a small body of water, i will put up some example pics soon, and no your photo would not be DQ'ed from the lakes challange, i think its a great example of a lake.
It should be easy to tell that the image is of a river. there needs to be enough of the river showing to see both of its banks and that it continues on.
