Not just plants... biological discoveries and processes, in general. How can one patent our own DNA! And then there's math and the software patents. Madness, this patent business has become. I...

You didn't study hard enough or you would have found that octopus (and squid) do have lenses in their eyes... it's not just a pinhole.

@raincoat: I doubt you'd say that if you really anything about sensors. Sigma's current Foveon sensor is pretty darn good. It's hard to top it if you're into portraiture and landscape...

Pronounce it however you want. If someone doesn't know what a GIF or a Jif is, that's their problem. Mr. Wilhite looks a little too rigid to me. Perhaps he needs to pull that stick out...

The public always gets to decide... If the public agrees with the creator then fine. If not, then anything goes.

@Peiasdf: I don't care what Apple(tm) calls it. I call it wireless flash.
-
@JaFO: The Raspberry Pi and the camera module are not for those people. Tell me of anybody in their right mind, who isn't a programmer by nature (your words), who would buy this stuff? People who...

So, because they use the phrase "social camera flash" it would make it patentable? Most camera systems today call this technology wireless flash.

There's nothing nightmarishly complex about the process he outlined in his article. Instead of bothering his geeky friends, he could have just done a Google search and probably gotten better...

WTF?! It's a "nightmarishly complex" camera module so I'll write about it and tell people it's a pain to set up and use. But I'll also tell the somewhat geeky people that I still had a satisfying...

@callaesthetics: "... there is no image degradation in Canon's built-in version. It was engineered to operate with it's teleconverter without compromise." And you know this how? I'm actually...

Don't feel too smart about your idea... unless you know how to design a lens, I'd say leave it to the lens engineers.

Because these EVFs still require lens elements for magnification. And maybe an EVF such as this one also includes a prism--I don't know this for sure but I thought I'd pull something out of my @ss.

Oh, they will fail. Let's just hope they can backtrack and correct this stupid misstep before they go the way of the Dodo. There are proprietary options out there besides Adobe. I hope Corel, Xara...

Too bad there isn't a dislike button on DPR. Your post is more boring and you must not really be a musician for saying the music is terrible. I bet your playing sucks so bad you might as well give...

Don't really care for this. While it might seem useful, this sort of stuff can easily be circumvented. And while there are laws to dissuade people from attempting to circumvent this password...

I would really love to see Sigma SD1 studio samples to compare with all these other cameras. Would have bought an SD1 if Sigma wasn't so stupid and greedy. Anyway, I still think the image quality...

It's one of those things where you can't please everyone... Small hands, big hands, short stubby fingers, long skinny ones. It comes down just getting used to it. I use Minoltas, Sonys, and...

C'mon, just say you don't like Sony or pretty much anything that isn't Canon. Here's an advice from a fellow Minnesotan: Open your mind, the world is bigger and more colorful than you think.
