The Nikon S02 mini-camera puts 13 mp on a 1/3.1 inch sensor, with expected results. This camera has some advantage over cellphone cameras since it has a good quality zoom lens (30 to 90 mm effective), but at wide angle will compete only with older cellphones like the Apple iPhones.

The f0.95 Noctilux lens is made for handheld shots in very low light to extremely low light. Choosing to use the Noctilux means accepting certain compromises: The lens is very heavy for handheld shots, it's very expensive, and sharpness and detail are somewhat less than the best 50 mm Leica lenses.

The Leica G-Star Raw edition of the D-Lux6 is the same as the standard D-Lux6 except for the outer finish and the extra accessories included. The D-Lux6 in turn is the same as the Panasonic LX7 except for the exterior finish. Whether there are any other differences is explored in this article.

The Leica X Vario is highly optimized for image quality, and not for speed. The X Vario is a camera for a purist who wants very high build and image quality, and does not require the performance features of typical DSLRs or many high-performance or 'prosumer' compact cameras.
