thanks for the replies. my current reasons for not using RAW are that i don't know how to process/edit RAW files, and that so far i'm happy with my camera's jpegs (fuji x-e1).

how is this better than picasa? free software integrated with my email and websharing that has allowed metadata (tags) for years. as well as multiple organizing options and simple editing...

you can't go wrong with the panasonic gf1 or gx1 and the pancake lens! i just bought a fuji x-e1 so i'll sell you either of my two panasonic cameras :)
