  • And get an idea of the value of your equipment. You will likely get a little less on eBay or craigslist, but at least you will have a reference. I sold my Olympus E30 and 12-60 lens to cover cost ...
  • Does it have to be a prime? Why not the Olympus 12-40 or the Panasonic 12-35. Both give you constant 2.8 aperture. I can't speak to the attributes of the Panasonic lens, but the 12-40 is sharp ...
  • Legacy four third lens compatibility was the primary reason I chose the EM-1. If you don't have four third lenses, and don't plan on getting any, ,then the EM5II is the more logical choice, ...
  • Even for those who use an adjustable, changeable lens camera instead of a cell phone, they may not bring it out more than a few times a year. If they bought pretty much any camera from Nikon, ...
  • Slow, hunts a lot, soft at 400, with fair amount of CA. I keep it because....well its 400mm.  And ok if you need super telephoto  and have enough light to stop down.
  • In terms of price the PRO line of lenses is closer to the FT HG lenses than the SHG lenses. The 12-60 sells at B&H for 799 vs 999 for the 12-40. The HG lenses were achievable for the enthusiast ...
  • Replied in Nikonos?
No I do not believe there is any issue with internal condensation on a Nikonos with good O rings. I used a nikonos for more than 10 years and had all kinds of failure from bad seals, but only at ...
  • Replied in Nikonos?
The nikonos V as well as the nikonos RS were both waterproof to 200ft, both take interchangeable lenses. Though changing lenses underwater was not recommended😀
  • While its not a particularly "good " commercial , on the full spectrum of "stupid" commercials it  doesn't even get honorable mention ;) And i don't even watch that much television .
  • Replied in pricing
In the four third lens line up, the HG lenses were reasonably priced for the enthusiast to aspire to. The SHG lenses were,  for me, at least only a dream, in case I won the lottery. The current PRO ...
  • Another +1 For the few times I would actually use a FE lens, that Samyang is looking pretty good. Or maybe I'll also get the body cap lens....
  • I found a FL36R on the for sale forum for $80. On the EM-1 it works fine on  the hot shoe and as a wireless slave with TTL using the small   included flash as the command unit. . It won't work as ...
  • Replied in EVF !
Before getting the the EM-1, I used Canon film SLRs and Olympus DSLRs. I resisted getting into MFT cameras because I did not think I could adapt to an EVF after using optical finders for so long, ...

  • Replied in Quite bizarre
I have never heard or read anything that would indicate that photographing children at sporting event is some kind of precursor or " gateway event" leading to child abuse. The whole idea is simply ...
  • The Kippon EF to MFT AF adapter is supposed to list at $285, a used Canon EF 85mm 1.8 sells on KEH for $313. At $598 for both you are pretty close to prices for an Olympus 75mm 1.8  I've seen on EBay.
  • Sounds fine to me. I'd be happy to buy MFT lenses from canon if they had something I wanted. Canon is known to make some very nice lenses. Besides it adds a dose of legitimacy to MFT, for those who ...
  • Thanks for the comments. The small "flowers" in the lower right corner I believe are dogwood trees. These are quite tall evergreens, I was probably 30-40 yards away.
  • All taken with an EM-1 and the 50-200
  • Replied in Miscellaneous
Very nice collection. The Sigma 105 seems to really well. I have the lens but rarely use it except in a housing underwater. Apparently it needs to get out more
