About me:

I am (once again) an active advanced amateur photographer and videographer. My favorite camera was my 4x5 Speed Graphic, until David Hughes introduced me to the Sigma Foveon world in 2004. My first Sigma/Foveon love was the SD9 that was acquired in the fall of 2004; then my Sigma SD10 acquired in the fall of 2005; and of course my SD14 acquired in March 2007. More recently I added a DP1 and of course a DP2, and in Aug 2010 the SD15. My latest acquisition is the SD1M. I am definitely a Sigmoid!

I love that original 105 macro also, AND the original 50 f2.8 macro.  Both have produced spectacular results, no matter which SDnn camera they are mounted on. Keep on shooting and sharing those ...

Absolutely gorgeous shots, Lazlo.  VERY impressive! It's good to see that both of us are more active again on this august Forum.  Haven't seen you since our fun SUG shoot at Bulls Bridge, CT back ...
  • Hey, Pete, until you reminded me just now, I had totally forgotten that I was missing a top LCD Display on my SD1M!  As usual, Laurence knows what he speaks about.  I have never missed it!!  AND, ...
  • AWESOME, Laurence!!  Both the Vermont countryside AND the photo are amazing. Is this from the RC helicopter you were building back in 2011 to shoot with the original DPs? Best Regards, BT
  • Great shots, as always, Chuck.  As others noted, the Sigma colors are wonderful and the images are razor sharp. I guess that I too am a "Sears Point" old timer from my youth!! Best Regards, BT
  • As to pixel peeping, I found 15 small objects in the sky plus 1 much larger one that could well be a plane, as someone else mentioned. As to appreciating the image, I sure do.  It is incredibly ...
  • Thanks for the comments and suggestions, Mark.  I am learning a LOT about Photoshop that I should have known before!!! Best Regards, BT
  • VERY nice, Bob. I agree that mass processing photos with SPP is a PITA!! Best Regards, BT
  • I sure do remember that, wbill!  But the power problems then were a whole lot worse and more complicated.  IRRC, the only solution was to remove all batteries for a minute, reinsert them, then ...
  • That's my favorite lens!! Love the photo; great shot!! I'm curious; how did you mount a filter on the lens as it has no screw adapter? Best Regards, Bill Taylor Gambrills, Maryland
  • Hey, Pete; long time no hear; we need to reconnect. I have had the same problem a number of times.  I don't know the root cause, but it's irritating, to say the least.  But then again, maybe I ...
  • Nice shots, Chuck, though you know that comparing Sigma favorably to Nikon is heresy!! BTW, the Sonoma Raceway is the Sears Point Raceway of my youth, right? Keep on shooting!! Best Regards, BT
  • Thanks for all the comments and suggestions, Scott.  I really appreciate them. I have to tell a funny story about your tip, above.  For the first BEFORE photos I took for my partner (who has been ...
  • Thanks, J F.  I appreciate the comments; and like the adjustments you made.  I haven't played much with the Vibrance adjustment and will now experiment with it. Thank again, and Best Regards, BT
  • I like it, Barry!  Thanks! BTW, what were your settings coming out of SPP? Best Regards, BT
  • Created discussions Problem Lighting
In his recent Thread "For Your Consideration" Laurence noted that he was shooting, "under lighting from hëll." I find myself in a similar Problem Lighting situation and seek advice from the august ...

Thanks, to Ted, Jim and Rick for your suggestions.  I will try all of them. I appreciate your recommendation of the SD1M, Rick, but I only have one of them and will first try to dedicate my SD14 to ...
  • Beautiful job, Bob.  I love panos, and AutoPano Giga (or Pro) makes it pretty easy with good exposures. Thanks for sharing. BTW, where are the shots from the competition.  I love your work there! B ...
  • Great shots, Rick.  I like the second one best. I have always wanted to try IR photography, what with the great shots You and Seng and others have posted over the years.  I guess that I was just ...
