I'd get Samsung EX2F than this one.
That's a true good news for a consumer.
Timmbits: I don't care! Korea has decided to start hunting whales, and I am participating in the international boycott of all Korean products!
And mean time Americans make troubles to other states on the planet...
marike6: It's not a beautiful camera, but has a solid looking grip, a terrific Schneider lens, and a tilt/swivel screen - all great things. But I don't know why vendors have to write f1.4 or f1.8 like the XZ-1 or Full HD on the front of cameras. They aren't places for specs. Take a cue from the X10, still one of the prettiest P&Ss ever. No logos, no writing, nothing on the front. The top panel can have any little "Full HD" or "AVCHD" spec cues designers want, but with the front, the cleaner the better.
Can't totally agree with you. Indeed X10 is a beautiful camera, but EX2f is a beauty too. And f1.4 is not just a spec it is the most important adavantage which distinguishes this camera from other P&S.
Rooru S: Not interested, but hope at least the Drive Dial is customizable to another function. Seems like a combination of S95, NEX-7 and RX100.
It is like you didn't ever seen EX1 before.
rttew: Nokia: keep making failing phones that no one will buy from you.
I'll buy it. You are not everbody.
ProfHankD: This is in several ways a step ahead of Sony NEX, but still misses on a lot of the basics. Samsung's been learning a lot from Sony; let's see if Sony can learn a little from Samsung and start to support the "connected camera" concepts... at least allowing USB tethered control (like they should have all along!).
No, you can check it on youtube, but you should know that it is only a Beta firmware.
peevee1: Given the current price for Panasonic DMC-G3 ($618 with 14-42 lens), this should not cost more than $700 (for WiFi, although an EyeFi card solves this problem for Pana). But I bet Samsung will try to price it significantly more.
First, NX20 DMC-G3 are not at the same league (APS-C vs MFT)Second, NX20's price is MSRP, and it is not on the market yet.Third, NX 20 has a WiFi direct system which is not the same thing as a simple WiFi feature provided by a EyeFi card. With Wifi direct you dont need a WiFi router.
Kiril Karaatanasov: Weird why did Samsung mess up so bad?
screen...they barely got to parity with nex-5 the gel technology has benn in nex for quite some time now
Outdated viewfinder 800x600 what is this? Are we living in 2006?
The nx200 sensor brought again..why?
...and to top it all built in eye-fi card....only 8fps?
These are examples of DOA release. Samsung should bring someone from their phone division to manage the camera business.....
I can't see why one can complain about nx200 sensor? It is just great, and even perfect for the money! Before criticize smth or smb just try to understand, I mean wi-fi is an excellent and very useful feature. Then you talk about 8 fps, is not enough for you? You must be very crazy photographer who needs rather a video camera than a photocamera.
Yes, NX20 is definitely a big step ahead. I like all the features especially wifi, articulated screen, high res EVF. It does worth the money.
alexandru: Nokia, what about you start making a decent smartphone, one that works and doesn't need any marketing gimmicks to attract attention...like this ridiculous sensor.
It's embarrassing. Seriously. Stop it, fire everybody.
And you just stop whining.
Muhammad bilal: I want to ask question , i am confused because i want to buy a compact camea about the result of camera ,that nokia 808 produce better result than compact cameas like sony hx9v or other models?
Yest, because it has bigger sensor and excellent optics signed by Carl Zeiss.
Nokia 808 will be an excellent replacement to my P&S Sony TX9 and Galaxy S2 for a low price.
CMurdock: Judging from the sample images, this is ONE HORRIBLE CAMERA. Every image shows very bad smearing of detail, even the RAW images. Over the years I have seen DPR give the A-OK to dozens (if not hundreds) of bad images, and this review confirms that they don't know how to interpret what they are seeing. There are dozens of cameras out there that have better image quality than this.
I must say I've never seen such a dull comment.
I was waiting this review a very long time.I think you did a pretty objective review. Thanks!
Nokia 808 just gaved them up.
These cameras are dead born, because Nokia 808 outperforms them in IQ.
It is my dream phone.I could care it any ware I go, instead of "bulky" APS-C size Samsung NX10 :)Einstein was right everything is relative.
I can argue that this is a Kyrgyz hunter. Kyrgyz and Kazakh have the same look though, because they are both a fraternal nation.
I have an impression that this review in particular and Dreview in general have some kind of aversion when we talk about Samsung APS-C cameras. It looks like a discrimination with no reason.
