I think there is no doubt mirrorless is the future what particular format if any dominates is a very different question. Remember any sensor tech advantages that help mFT also help the other...

I will make this very clear just for you:
1,116,336 { DSLR} + 319,192 { MIRRORLES} = 1,435,528 [ TOTAL INTERCHANGABLE MARKET}
319,192 therefore = 22.2% of the total interchangeable market
It really...

Only problem with that "some" is that the CIPA data includes the entire production the Japanese camera market and is by far the most comprehensive source of data. The mirrorless market is falling...
-
The CIPA rating for the D600 is 900
The E-M1 as rated by CIPA is 350

A FF sensor has nearer 4x the area of a mFT sensor. The E-M5 has better DR but slightly poorer colour depth and poorer high ISO than the original 5D .Which considering the 5D is 8yrs old is not too...

These figures tell you everything about the entire production of the Japanese camera industry, I can see why you would prefer to ignore as they show the exact opposite of your plucked from fresh...
-
That would be interesting as in the first 8 months of this year the entire mirrorless market shipments to the whole of Europe accounted for just over 10% of the interchangeable lens market . Though...

Brian,
The DSLR slide is grossly exaggerated if you actually take the time to read the latest CIPA DATA which is by far the most comprehensive camera data and covers the entirety of the...

I cant comment on the AF speed on the E-M1 sadly I am waiting on mine :-( .The 14-140 is a surprisingly decent performer for a 10x zoom and delivers very good still and video results. In fact...

Bizarrely enough I think the cheapo 24-85 does have a weather sealed metal mount :-)
-
The 25mm doesn't have IS :-) it is the respective Olympus or GX7 that have in body IS just as the Sony A99, A900,A850 all have built in IS and obviously they can use a 50mm F1.4 on these FF models....

Shallow DOF at close up or macro distances is not a problem with any system, personally I love my 20mm and it defines mFT to me.Small , light sharp and good value.

Not as far as their warranties are concerned you will find the same gotcha clauses in the Olympus warranty as with other gear from different manufactures Weather "resistant" is a very different...

I used to be a wedding and event shooter I feel your pain :-) .If you can live with the high ISO of the E-M1 I think it will do a great job for you.

I am most fond of landscape shooting , so my main changes would have been a higher MP count and a true base 50 ISO, better battery life and a dual card slot I find that very useful beyond that it...

I know that O- rings degrade over time and require maintenance /replacement to maintain a good seal.

Hi Danny,
a hose for camera cleaning purposes might not be a bad idea for bird shooters. The use of chemical weaponry bombs by birds can be quite unpleasant if their targeting is good :-)

Brian , I have found that FF combined with mFT makes for an almost perfect "system" .I am now in a similar situation to the film combination of 35mm/MF . When I want the very best image quality for...
-
My point was that in many situations it is easy to obtain the same DOF while having an adequate shutter speed at 2 stops down. You do not the need to get the same shutter speed the need is to get...

The difference is that this small camera shared the exact same sensor/film size as other larger 35mm cameras so was at no disadvantage { regarding DOF control, high ISO noise, DR, colour fidelity...
