Yes - watch out for the "found a gold ring" crowd - ignore them. Also watch out for taxi drivers who turn a 10 Euro fare into a 25 Euro one (probably when you catch a cab at a rank associated with...

I have a D800e and use Lexar CF cards with no issues. I started using a 32gB 400x card, but recently upgraded to a 32gB 1000x card (still Lexar). There is a significant improvement. When shooting...

Yes - I have looked at it and it looks pretty good. I discounted it because I had the 70-200 and 2x TC giving me 400mm at f5.6. But as you say with the TC1.4 I would have 560mm and importantly I...

Thanks to all who responded. It seems that this combination will autofocus on the D800(or E), but it will be slower, with lesser image quality than the vastly more expensive super telephoto...

Hello Ray - its been a while! Thanks for the information. I was after confirmation from someone who had that lens and the 2x teleconverter (not the 1.4 which I am sure works well). I realise that...

Has anyone tried this combination - will it autofocus? As I understand it, the D800(E) and the new D7100 will autofocus up to f8, so this should work. (I shoot some surf photography and whales...

As the number of megapixels rises diffraction becomes a limiting factor. The D800(E) illustrates this. To increase the number of megapixels beyond the 36 MP of the D800 would make this even worse....

Well said. It always amazes me to see obvious "troll" posts in this forum that get so many responses. Ian Wieseianwiese.wordpress.com

Ah yes - that works very well. Thank you.

Thanks - I found it, although many of the links to it no longer work. I need to play with the options to get it working on my images, but it seems as if it could be very good.

The fastest (ie least time elapsed while taking the bracket) way to shoot a bracket is to set the bracket, then go to Stills Live View- hold down the shutter button.

Thanks Jack. The white spots were upsetting the methods I used to "restore" the photo - if my friend printed it as it is there wouldn't have been an issue. All I did was enhance the white spots or...

I have been restoring old photos for a friend, but this one has me beat. The problem is that there are fine white spots all over the image. Everything I try enhances these spots! There are too many...

Not much to work with at that resolution, but this was a quick edit (5 mins). Regards

You are exactly right - if you take exactly the same shot with the D700 and D800 and then print the D800 image to the same size as the D700 you will see exactly the same amount of blur because of...

Thanks to all who replied - it was all good advice, and helpful.

A friend of mine is looking at a new camera - one option is a D7000 at $AUD775 body only from Camera Paradise (see

). Of...

I hadn't realised that - thanks.Take the following graph as an example
How do I know whether the numbers on the y axis (Quality of Focus) represent good focus or not in absolute terms? Each...
