Steve Throndson: Yinhi . . . Just snow? How about ice and frost?
Thanks - Steve
No, you can have ice, snow, slush, sleet. anything that you would find in the winter. Sorry about the confusion!
Um... I don't know ifyou've noticed but your horizon is crooked... you may wantto fix that...
RaptorUK: Can you define what is Major and what is Minor please ? Can I clone out dust bunnies ? can I clone out a bird in the sky ? can I clone out a chair ? can I adjust levels ?
"No major photoshopping" = what ?
"Minor things like cropping are ok." = what ?
No, no cloning at all. That would be considered major. Minor things are cropping, exposure adjustment, highlights and shadow adjustment, things like that, that just barely change the picture.
DK Baker: So, if the camera does the HDR - then what?
Um.. Can you turn off that setting? If so then no it's not ok, but if you can't turn it off then yes it is ok.
happy snapper uk: i sent host a message asking for clarification on him booting my shot out....Not enough manners to give me a reply....
Not enough manners?! You don't know what's going on in my life! And in case you haven't noticed, I have the most popular challenge open for submissions! I don't appreciate you attitude and I uggest you chance it.
Waybo: No major Photoshopping ... how about HDR?
Sorry, the rules are the rules. I would to change them now because so many people are arguing and angry with me but I can't. My lesson learned the rules will be alot different in challenges to come.
Petean: right... so its "up to you" but there are restrictions about processing choices... weird
Waybo, I can understand that even great photographers Photoshop, but then at the same time, maybe they aren't so great after all. If we allow people to Photoshop, then how can we tell if they can take a Picture? I think skills like photography ar God given and we shouldn't have to photoshop to make a great photo. Now I'm not saying that I have never photoshopped before, because that would be lying, but when I do photoshop, I do it at a very minimum. Great photographers don't need ANY tools but a camera, although some make your life a whole lot easier, you don't need them. Now that's where I stand and I'm not moving ground. If you have different feelings than that, great! But my feelings are those that I just said. I'm a photographer and I have a right to have my own opion.
Is this HDR?
Dude!!! This photo is awesome!!!
I'm Just kidding! I was just teasing you! :D See, you can submit a photo of anything, butyou cant photoshop it. Make sense now? In my opion, you dont have to photoshop a oicture to have it be good.
I know. I'm NOT looking forward to it... :D Have you submitted any other pictures yet?
Thanks. I try to be as wied as possible...
No HDR. That's kind of what i meant by "major"
This is a Beautiful picture!
Yeah. What other people do isn't your business! Even if it isn't right, it's their own choice to do it! So go about your own business and leave the people alone that have entered a photo.
Awesome picture! Where was this taken?
Thomasbd: I don't know what really are you meaning by "no whole flower". But I just submitted less then half of a flower this time!!!!!!! and you disqualified it!!!!!! I am so disappointed for that!!!!!! here still I can see many photos of full flowers in the gallery!!!!!.... and it pains me...... however I am never uploading any image for any competition hosted by again!!!!!!! have good time.........
Look, Im sorry if the way i described it was confusing. what i am really looking for in this challenge are macro shots where the curves of the flower fill the entire picture, not half a flower two feet away. And if you dont want to enter any more of my challenges, fine.
Molarjung: By Molarjung ( June 30, 2011)
I have been also disqualified for the same pretext that the image is a "whole flower", while there are quite a lot images of full flowers left untouched in the Challenge gallery. Dear host, what happened to the fair play?
Im working on it. There are a lot of entries that still need to be disqualified and i realize this. There have been a lot of entries and I'm diong the best i can. i promise by the time the challenge is over all of the entries that are whole flowers will be gone.
K. First off, I have to say, AMAZING!!! Second, how in the world did you blow that bubble?
