Nice work. Looks better than my effort.

Hey, hang on a minute. You've DQ'ed my entry, and there's still two hours left to vote!!!

Well, the best solution would be a new dial - try contacting your local Oly service center.
Another possibility would be to engrave a letter in the appropriate position and fill the engraved area...

All fine images Collin, but the first one is just outstanding.

Thanks for your input.
I did try it with the E-1, and of the 10 or so shots I took I don't think a single one was in focus.
Last weekend I took on board all the suggestions people have made since...

Great shots all - although the first may be a little over-saturated. The E-1 and what I assume was the 11-22 just keep delivering the goods despite being obsolete antiques. I really must add an...

Excellent pano Thane - great detail everywhere. ICE has done a great job of stitching the images together - I can't pick a single seam. Must give it a try.

The HLD4 can be used with the E-3, E-30 and E-5.
The HLD4 has a standard tripod socket on the bottom.

I really like the first shot hoosh. Great use of symmetry and the was the hadndrail grabs your your and drags you into the picture is very well done.

Generally, it's not possible to revert to earlier versions of firmware. I suspect it's something only Olympus service could do.

Great shot Dharma. Good thing you took the camera when you popped down for a swim.

Thanks Bob. Any chance you could check the serial number on your copy?

What comes between what you're shooting and the camera. Oly makes some superb lenses which really work well with the cameras.

Despite the problems, I'm considering keeping it for just that reason. The IQ of in-focus images is stunning. I just wish we had some indication of what's in the pipeline. I could even live with...

I've tried that but I have a few days to play before I have to send it back. I'll try a few things over the weekend.

Agreed. Assuming the whole frame is in a similar plane, the symptom of only having part of the frame OOF indicates some sort of problem - possibly with a mis-aligned or damaged element.

My thoughts exactly. I suspect that the perceived better AF performance at smaller apertures is a result of increased DOF. That's why I did all my testing at f1.4.
After all, you don't buy an f1.4...

I know what you're saying, but image quality at any given aperture and accuracy of focus are two different issues. And BTW, even at f1.4 the image quality of this lens is stunning if the focus is...

Thanks for the suggestion, but the AF adjust only works where the focus error is consistent. Unfortunately, with a mix of front and back focus, an adjustment just wont work (and I did try it...

Thanks for the suggestion Michal, but firmware the camera and the lens are up to date.
