This is all fantastic advice, thank you so much. I did indeed forget to close to the viewfinder window. I used a B+W 3.0 ND 110 filter. I'll get the sensor cleaned and have another go at it. Thanks...

Can you elaborate? Shot with 24-70mm. Possibly something wrong with the lens how?

I did notice that, thanks.. need to get it cleaned!
It's the corners I'm most worried about, that pixelated look.. I guess underexposure is the main culprit? Is this common in all cameras?
Thanks...

I recently picked up a 10 stop ND filter and recently tried it out. I'm not sure where the issue is, but the photo looks quite splotchy in the some areas, particularly the corners. Does anybody...

Not sure why the hate? Love these shots.
Enjoy your lens and post more!

I can't seem to focus my 70-200mm lens from 200-300mm, any suggestions? :) :)

Firstly.. sorry to hear. Like you said, it's rare that a lens of that calibur would have QC issues. I'd fight as hard as you can to get it fixed through Nikon. If it's really a manufacturer's...

I just picked up a Camranger and I'm pretty excited about what it will be able to do when I'm out shooting. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend an iPad app that provides the best ability to...

Are there any primes under 200mm that have max apertures smaller than 2.8?
I think one of the main benefits of a prime is that it can let in more light, so I don't think you'd see an F/4 lens.
But...

Seriously though, ask yourself if you NEED what the 70-200mm f/2.8 is offering. There is no doubt here what a fantastic performer it is. I didn't buy my 70-200 f/4 because it was cheaper, I bought...

I would say that recent Nikon releases, particularly the 28mm 1.8G, 70-200mm F4 and the new 18-35 are all taking a step in the direction of lightening the lens. Can't speak for length but I'm happy...

Part of my brain keep whining (unreasonably) about my choice to go with this lens over the f/2.8. However, this post reminded me exactly of why I picked up the F/4 - the number of times I picked up...

Fantastic! Really awesome insight, thank you for sharing this!

I too would like a sponge. Please let me know where to get one. Regards.

Regarding the hourglass issue - it's happened to me as well and just as randomly. Frustrating, especially if you're with a client and are trying to show them something. Doesn't happen often though....

Hi everyone,
I'm looking at purchasing a used 135mm f/2 lens, the Ai-S version. I own the 85mm 1.8G and the 70-200 F/4 lenses, but I'm wondering if this lens would provide a unique look for...

I have a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens.. I'd like to get wider than 24mm sometimes.. is 18mm enough? Would I start to feel like the two lenses were overlapping? I'm worried about it being excessive in terms...

Great post. As a new Nik user, looking forward to seeing how people use it!

Really enjoyed your response. I will say though with regards to the above comment, the 28mm is incredibly and fantastically light - if that factors into your decision at all.
