Worry not , they'll supply this camera as "limited addition" alongside with some super car model or something
Surprisingly ... nice
SirSeth: Maybe it will be as good as RAID. If so, then what a boon. If the two partitions are insulated from each other correctly that is... and time will tell. Auto backup in one card is a fantastic idea in theory and it will only take a bit of time to see if this idea delivers the goods or not. Naysayers, maybe it's not as good as it sounds (message that scarcity mentality), but you have to admit that if it does provide highly reliable mirroring in one card well that could be amazing for mission critical shooting. I'm in favor.
The PC RAID goes around idea of two (or more) access points , here you have only one , and if the access gets unavailable , it wouldn't be matter how good was the internal mirroring - all goes down the drain.
djsphynx: Or just buy 2 64GB cards for those of us who have cameras with two slots?
My bad , but I didn't had in mind the high-ends
there are no CF dual slots , but , as was said before me - it is gimmick anyway
Well , somehow I have a feeling , that after a while , the paper will acknowledge that it's need its' own man with high-end equipment on the spot .Surely the photo-stuff will be reduced drastically , but after couple of misses ( like unfit noisy JPGs from smartphone instead of 100mm L lens...) couple of photo guys will find their way back to office .
Spitze: I don't understand the negative comments either. Please critique image #0101 for me and teach me where the IQ is lacking. I'm an older gentleman and my eyes may not see what you are seeing. Please compare apples to apples as this is, after all, an APS-C sensor camera.
I'm traveling to Europe in about five weeks and would like to know what you would recommend in its place. I have been using full size Canon DSLRs. I was hoping this would be available before my trip since I'm comfortable with the Canon OS and would like to travel with a lighter kit.
I am actually expecting for every new sensor (as this one presented by Canon) to be better than predecessor .True , one will never tell from looking at A4 print which print came from which model ... , but on this topic we're looking at sample images of bran new model and I (at least here ) want to see (and be impressed if possible :) ) the maximum IQ
a complete lack of texture on objects at this ISO (the poll , glass ) is something to think about if you might want to crop your photo , though as I said above , it is hard to tell , if it is the kit lens or overshoot of out-of-camera JPG
looking at these samples , I'll say one thing for sure : next sample gallery should be taken with high-end lens , since this ,the kit one , ruins objective IQ judging by it's "kit" properties such as chewing fine details and high CA all over the image
ceaiu: Currently you have to choose between a zoom (which gives multiple focal lengths but it's slow) and primes (which are fast but offer single focal lenghts).I was wondering why there aren't compromises, like very short (1.5x or 2x) zooms faster than 2.8.I would have liked to see a 24-35mm (or 35-50), a 85-135mm, a 200-300mm ... zoom or with some sort of integrated TC - faster and with better iq than a zoom, and a little more versatile than a prime.Sigma might know something about D400 and 7D2 arrivals, as without them there won't be to much of a market.Bravo Sigma!!!
not much room for "feet zoom" inside apartment , you know
Well , numbers are good , but lets wait for corner samples
Provia_fan: Lovely camera, but I can't stop but seeing it as Canon's admission that the EOS-M was a mistake.
In my opinion (subjective as it can get) - all models with no some kind of FV , is a mistake
Lovely camera , fits well with 40mm 2.8f , good (for it's class) high ISO .Lets wait for RAW samples , AF and DR capabilities .Good move by Canon
sigala1: People are violating the spirit of Instagram by using borders to make the photos rectangular.
there is a spirit in the Instagram ?
superb aura of early morning , colors and location
very nice indeed
Let aside the content of these images , they are so heavily filtered through software , that in my understanding too , it could not fall under "photography" art . "Photography" is to freeze a moment of life , but freeze it on the single blink , and than - let it continue in it's flow...These works flow nowhere . There are no dept of life moment in'em , just pictures , which once were sketches , taken by iPhone.
again and again I notice , that images taken with smartphone , should be watched on smartphone screen ( or text article "companion" size ), since once you open'em on 100% resolution to look closer , all composition and color idea goes south and all attention switched to IQ and thinking of what went wrong with ugly and grainy noise reduction ... .
Stylish , "Leica" looking P&S camera - there is a nice niche for it , as for VGA video - with it's quality ( and on small iPhone or whatever screen) who'll tell the difference anyway ? The price is just right too .
