I have done several trips with 35mm 1.4g and d700, very happy. Next trip I will take 14-24, 35mm and 85mm - problem is really want a tripod as well for low light shots with the 14-24. I plan to...

I had an olympus e3 and an extensive selection of thier four thirds lenses. Not as compact as micro four thirds, but close enough to make a comment. Even with an optimized viewfinder, I found it...

Get a large bag and fill it with all the photographic stuff you don't use. Take it to a dealer who will give you cash or store credit Buy something you really want(If you are unsure of the value...

The question is do you like shoting at 14mm? If so then you need the 14-24mm. If you are happy with 16mm then the 16-35 is very good

I have the 35 1.4g and a D700. For two years it was my only lens. There were very few times that I wanted anything wider. If you want to take indoor architectural shots - you will need something...

I have the same combination on my d700. I am very happy with it as well. Trying to figure out how to go wider but the 35mm is so flexible that there is not much need at this stage.

The Nikon 35 1.4g is a great lens. You should have no regrets about getting it.

It is cheaper in the long run to get the lens you really want. (I speak from experience)I have tried both the 85 1.8g and 1.4g in a shop. No photos sorry, both are really good lenses, but the 85...

Good for him if he is happy. I couldn't be happier with my D700. Tried the Canon offerings at the time and they did not "click" with me. Still very good offerings though. KR might not realize it...

I have 35mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.4 on a D700 and it is a very versatile combination.I have had five different zooms on non Nikon cameras in the past. Usually ended up leaving the zooms at home and...

I got the Nikkor 85mm 1.4G. It is excellent and I am very happy with it. Thanks for the helpful comments.

Could you explain why you prefer this lens to the 14-24?

Thank you for all your helpful comments. This is not a joke. sorry if I gave that impression. Think I will go for the 85mm. Will have to think about 1.8 vs 1.4 - there are quite a few threads...

Hi Everyone, I have a nice problem. I have traded my old 4/3 system in and have enough held in credit at my local photo shop for either the Nikkor 24mm 1.4g or the Nikkor 85 1.4g and a cheque for...

I would suggest x100 by itself - maybe with gorillapod - no need for sb 800Get the fitted case for the x100 and dont carry around a camera bag. That will give you a nice camera to use and not "kill...

Another vote for just the 35mm. I take the 35mm 1.4g - heavier than your cz35f2 - you would have a nice light kit with just that lens. Bet there would not be many shots you would miss either!

Do you prefer the 60mm lens to 85mm for portrait work? (on a FF body)

I have an old Olympus Zuiko 500mm mirror lens. It used to take great pictures on my film cameras. I can buy and adaptor kit through a company called Leitax. I have to take the old bayonet mount...

I have a D700 with a 35mm 1.4g. I am very happy with the setup. Might get an 85 or possibly skip the 85 and go 24 and then 200. I am in no great hurry to get the next lens, still learning what I...
