I really like the last photo, with the couple with the lolly. Captures a decisive moment & love the post processing, the clouds especially.

Given Fuji are releasing new firmware at the end of May here is my list of improvements I'd like (over and above the expected AF improvements):
1. In manual exposure mode, with auto iso on exposure...

just my taste, but I prefer the original version.

I have got the "has a hexagonal screw, and is stamped with the word "REIYI"" collar.
I found it difficult to turn lens in the collar. On investigation the collar is not precisely circular - ie its...

Guides in Rwnada do not let you go nearer than 7m from Gorillas. I think 50mm / 85mm will be too short. Yes you need to have the 24-70 rang covered for wide shots showing them in there environment...

Sante Patate I used an online calculator (see 1st post on page 1) to calculate the 261mm. Whilst 261mm may not be exactly accurate (other people in the discussion have predicted even lower focal...

much simpler than that.80-400 ratio 1:5.7. 36mm*5.7 = 205mm. arctan (205/1750) = 6.68degs300 ratio 1:3.7. 36mm*3.7 = 133mm. arctan (133/1450) = 5.24degsso its more like the horizontal fov, but...

I'm the OP and I confirm I am not absolutely certain over the 261mm figure. Others in the thread think its nearer 200mm.from the closest focus distance and magnification ratios I did calculate FoV...

I did a quick calculation (using http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/camera-lenses.htm) and get a focal length of 261mm at closest focus distance.maybe I'll think a bit more before taking...

The D7100 I tried at Focus on imaging was operating in Demo mode. A big red warning appeared when I turned camera on.

I tried D7100 at focus on imaging too. Definitely agree that the grip feels more solid than D7000 I used to have. It felt re-assuringly good.

Yes variable aperture is not as convenient for the photographer. Though my view has always been that if I am carrying a zoom with a big glass front element to give say f4.0 at the long end, then...

It is trying to balance natural light with flash. my nikon d800 also does the same. For flash I usually switch to manual iso, shutter & aperture with TTL flash

I just bought a used 80-400. Needed long zoom for tiger safari in india in March. fSo I would agree anouncement of replacement will be soon!!

I have D300 & D800.In December I got a Fuji X-E1 and love shooting with it (despite a few quirks in the software which I hope will be ironed out soon), because of the low weight and focus accuracy...

200-400 f4.0 would be good.a 200 of 300 is not long enough IMHO. Even on DX 400mm minimum. Nikon 80-400, Sigma 150-500 or Sigma 50-500 zooms. or as others have suggested a 300mm f4.0 AFS with...
