Wow 33rd??? This was one of my top picks. Viewed at full size, it's an amazing image. You should enter this in the jigsaw puzzle challenge that just opened. Really beautiful shot.
Many of these entries will do well in the Botanical Jigsaw challenge.
ysal: I think the key is that your "subject" has to be monochrome. So, surrounding or secondary subjects can be of other colors.
Ah yes. Reading over your rules again, you made that clear, that the whole image must be monochrome. Sorry, forget what I said :-)

What beautiful bugs, and a great rear shot!!
Bhimaprasad Maiti: This shuffling had broken the order of submission. This perhaps had been done to influence the voter. If the the challenge owner had some understanding with the D-Preview Forum ,it should be clearly notified as a rule.Otherwise this is becoming unfair .
You should complain to DPR, host has no control over this. In every challenge, the order gets shuffled once it enters the voting stage. Shuffled randomly every time you visit the challenge.
A great rear view.
Great shot, congrats!! So cute.
Ronan_M: Lots of good entries this time...
Wow, what a magical image!! Gorgeous.
Congrats Stevie, great shot!
RuthC: Congratulations, ysal, on your well-deserved second place in this 'Nature's Gifts' Challenge. Your cheerful little song sparrow epitomises the theme. The colours of the bird, and its surrounds don't jump out from the page, as some more flamboyant bird shots do, yet you have achieved the essence of this challenge beautifully. What the bird lacks in size and colour, it more than makes up with its evident passion for singing. Beautiful in every sense. Ruth :-)
Thank you Ruth, and everybody who voted. Listening to wild birds sing is a true gift of nature for me. This little guy was so bent on singing, I was able to sneak right up to him, very slowly.
Are film images allowed?
I thought they were serious pests to agriculture.
Excellent shot, Cole! Love how you managed to get both in perfect focus.
This is a fantastic and fun image. congrats!
Judging from your capture date, this was during the Perseid meteor shower. Amazing feat to capture everything in this image, can you elaborate on what it took to get this shot?
RuthC: Folks, I will be on holiday at a lovely beach for the next two weeks. During this time, I hope to continue hosting these weekly challenges. I will have the time to do so, but I'm not sure whether I'll have a strong internet connection to do the job properly. If the internet connection is a problem, then I may not be able to send personal messages to those entries which need to be disqualified. DQ's may even have to wait until I return home, or after the announced results. :-(Make sure your entry is the correct 1,600px size, and has the correct capture date, title, etc so I don't have to disqualify you. That will keep us both happy!Alternatively, I could suspend the challenges, but I would be reluctant to do so.Cheers, and happy snapping.Ruth :-)
Have a great holiday Ruth!
