ysal: Scolia Hirta?

I was wondering about the size too but the look is right. Maybe this one is on growth hormone :-)

Many great closeups but very few actual macro shots.

What a nice surprise! Thank you so much everyone. The lighting was completely natural here, no vignetting by PP.

thejohnnerparty: So did he get that fly on the "pile"? :-)

RuthC: This is a great picture, meeting the theme of this challenge really well, ysal, but it is one picture I don't wish to hang on my wall! Very dramatic, very focussed, great contrasts and textures, and an interesting story to tell. I think you went beyond the call of duty for this one. Ruth :-)

Hehehe thanks Ruth. I actually shot this just before the challenge was announced. I thought it was so funny how he was sitting on the "pile" until I realized his purpose and I thought it was brilliant. I'm sorry if I offended anybody with this :-)

RuthC: There are quite a number of entries in this challenge, of flowers, which I personally haven't detected to have perfume. However, that is not to say that these flowers, growing in many other parts of the world don't have perfume. I've Googled many of the species, but have been unable to ascertain whether that have an aroma or not. So, once again, voters, it will be up to you to assist here, and vote high for those flowers which you know have an aroma, and vote low if you think they don't.
Ruth

I also had trouble with birds because I don't think it's been scientifically proven that all can smell.
