On National Park Service bans drones in Yosemite article (170 comments in total)

I agree completely with the decision. Fly the camera drones elsewhere. Keep the Country Country.

Frank_BR: For every "pro" shooting with a Nikon D4S at ISO 409600 ISO, there will be 4096 amateurs with a P&S or smartphone shooting at ISO 100. Do you understand now why Chicago Sun-Times fired the entire photography staff last year, to just rely on freelance photographers?

Pssst....Paul... Its all about the money. The money, Paul. Trumps quality nearly every tiome.

Indeed. Silly Aussies should have thought twice before building their country so far away from the rest of the world. Now, they must pay for their ignorant hubris!

Brilliant idea. It's edgy and interesting. No, it's not fine art portrait photography, but the streets of LA aren't all in Beverly Hills either.

Idreamphoto: What privacy in public place? The question is not relevant.

"If he pulled that on me I'd take a baseball bat to his rig."

And you'd probably wind up in jail.

On The DSLR Field Camera article (180 comments in total)

This technique would also be good for high definition portraiture. Like those pros do, like Annie Liebowitz. With a ring flash I think the details in the faces and eyes would be stunning. I'm gonna try it.
Thank you.

funnelwebmaster: Chasing zebras from a low flying helicopter to photograph them in their "natural state" hardly qualifies as much of anything other than animal harassment.
That's what I say, anyway....

no need to get insulting, now....

shakabra: One thing that I never ever understand in these camera reviews.....is that no one ever talks about PRINTING. I mean, you don't even need more than a 1 megapixel camera if all you do is post photos on the internet. All this tech talk and stupid arguing... and not one mention of the final output: THE PHOTOGRAPH!!! 10 years ago, no one ever argued about which film or chemicals were superior. Now look at you. You are all tech geeks yet you have all lost sight of what photography is all about. the D800 has 36 megapixels and not one mention of what the prints look like.

shakabra SPEAKS TRUTH.
