Great, congratulations! Now don't forget to stick a red (Leica!) dot on the front to remind you exactly where the card slot is!
Cheers

Not at all; I did the same soon after I got mine, but managed to not insert the card all the way in before I noticed my mistake. I promptly stuck a red dot on the front to remind me of the card...

Hi Folks:
The Garvan Institute's signature architectural feature (spiral staircase that depicts a strand of DNA) illuminated with the Institute's corporate colours to celebrate its 50th year.

Suspect my attempts to document from my vantage point in Sydney will be as ambitious as my previous attempt: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/50285188 ;-)

Is your 50 'Lux 6-bit coded, or have you manually selected the lens via the lens selection menu? That might solve some of your CA issues?

Found this on an old work computer: part of a Leica Microsystems image acquisition software package for Leica microscopes...don't know what it does, but maybe it's the high ISO answer we all...

It also makes a great B&W camera because of its increased sensitivity to IR. No substitute for a Monochrome, but close enough.

The logo on my son's cap is printed reversed so it appears correctly when viewed in a mirror...Cheers,Rob

I have the Oly 24mm/f3.5shift lens: NO tilt. Yes on 4/3 it's 48mm, and so its utility is diminished. A great piece of glass nonetheless, and one reason I still use OM film cams. Why don't you try...

You folks justify DxO's tests any way you want; I still want an M240 ;-)Rob

12-60 is one SHG I don't have, but was never impressed with f2.8-f4 variable aperture, 14-35 doesn't focus sometimes on my E3/E5, but 14-54 is always dependable, great IQ and a stop faster, and...

D-Lux 6/Pany LX-7 or the new Fuji X-100S looks interesting....D-Lux 6 has a great fast lens and accompanies my M8/M9 bodies.Cheers,Rob

Agree with all previous sentiments; took me a year to get the point of a rangefinder, then I could see a change in the way I viewed my subjects. BTW, the M8 makes a fabulous B&W shooter, when used...

Roel: You are familiar with Oly's SHG glass, so you know what quality optics are about, a major and expensive point of Leica. But for me, Leicas are just a tool which suits my purpose, the way I...

I have both D-L 4 & D-L 6, and the faster lens and newer sensor in the D-L 6 give much better still and video IQ. But somehow I prefer the control layout of the D-L 4: the slightly recessed black...

yes Roel, as a fellow Oly fan, I think you could appreciate how shooting with a Leica would open up new possibilities. As always, I enjoy your posts both here and over at "mothership" Oly!Cheers,Rob

Thanks for your kind comments. This was a fun event, certainly a rare spectacle for Sydney. For a slightly different perspective, there's more pics under the same title over at the Leica...
