Thanks for the votes and the win! My wife loves her flowers, now I tell her she has an "award winning" garden! Thanks again!

  • Submitted a challenge entry Fishing for flowers
This old boat has been washed up and forgotten about in Pantelleria, Italy. Completely abandoned over the years, the fishing nets are losing the battle against the elements, and the boat is over grown by the desert type plants growing on the beach just 2 meters from the sea.

The first flowers to bloom in our garden are always the most beautiful. Spring/March brings blue skies, yellow and red flowers, and the right mix of all the primary colours.

A series of shots at Porthleven England on January 1st. The sea was VERY angry that day, and those that tried to pass on the road by the port had to do it quickly. I unfortunately had a huge wave crash down on me, but luckily I kept the camera dry and moved to higher ground to take these shots. Remember to always be aware of what is behind you, not just for what is in front of you!
I know it's photoshoped together to make one photo, but I wanted to show the fury of nature.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Devine Onion Time
The wonderful Cipolla di Tropea (Tropea Onion) in Italy has a stronger and sweeter aroma and the inner part is juicier and whiter than other red onions. It is possible to make a marmalade, and even a red onion ice cream with it.

On a rainy day in Rome I decided to shoot a treat a friend of mine brought us. In Calabria these red onions are eaten raw in salads; cooked in sauces; roasted or grilled; placed on top of pizza or in frittate; made into jam, and even added to ice cream! They are certainly the best onions I have eaten and photographed.

The original shot was taken in Krakow of a building that has a very unique tile pattern and an interesting crest between a set of 4 windows. While the shot was very nice as it was when I took it, I wanted to see what would happen with a little playing. The image is now more abstract and feels almost 3 dimensional as the windows and lines create virtual vaults leading you down and around a Alice in Wonderland type world.
