I tried this combo at my local dealer today. The frame lines in the optical VF would not zoom with the lens.  I know I saw a utube video a while ago showing the frame lines zooming with the lens....

I just checked my X100.  I don't use the evf very much but  had no problem (noticeable delay) in going from light to dark areas.
