The real story is how few of us actually care WHAT happens to Adobe any more.....

Nice straw man. "It's not a real camera. It's a phone with a camera." vs. "If it's capturing still images, it's a camera, and it's photography." So, which is it?

Not one real camera to compare it to. I don't usually say this kind of thing but this article seems to be a waste of time on a photography website. I feel like someone is trying to sell me a kodak...

Hm. I looked through the samples and thought, "The Fujifilm is getting it's butt handed to it by the likes of the Olympus E-M1 and Canon 100D" - and then I read the article's conclusion.... there's...

What you're describing is pretty close to one of the $29.99 throw-away cameras by Vivitar or Cobra you find in clamshell plastic in a local discount store, except with a decent sensor. Personally,...

Hey Hasselblad! See what they did there? You should take notes!

No, getting a dSLR (Oly E-300) in 2005 marked a significant improvement in my photography; it's when I stopped struggling with the equipment's limitations and started thinking about the photo I was...

In the past, I video taped things like the first steps of my kids, and them at play. Nowadays I film my kid's music performances. My wife watches them later, because she usually misses the...

They ARE great photos.... at the 3X5" resolution they're shown in this article. If I wanted to actually print one of those photos at a reasonably size for display - life would not be happy. At all....

I'm sorry, but.... you've got the right time, the right light and the right location.... however, clearly, you have the wrong tool for the job.

Very cool image!
Do you think the "colorful"-ness is part of the coin, or artifact from the camera? At ISO 125 I wouldn't expect that much noise unless you shot it in RAW.
I'm really looking...

Yeah, I used to live in Canada and the same problem with just about anything you could name - cameras, software, cars, whatever. Not sure why that is; the Canadian dollar used to be a lot lower...

Just noticed that Paintshop Pro is on sale on the Corel website for $29.99, upgrade for $19.99. It's the non-"Ultimate" version without Nik Color Efex Pro or REALLUSION FaceFilter Studio. The...

Good to see that, looks like Corel sees a business opportunity and they're pouncing on it.
Still no DNG support, alas..... my Pentax Q remains in JPEG mode. Not that I feel a burning need to use...

"VR" or "IS" (image stabilization in whatever flavor) became commonplace maybe 6-7 years ago.... and yet there were a lot of razor-sharp photos taken in the 150 years before that.
IMHO, taking...

My opinion:
Get an inexpensive used dSLR from B&H or Adorama with the kit lens; there's dozens of decent 6-12 Mpixel cameras available around $200-300. Get a decent beginner's book on how to use...
