Not really I think. I had have 35-70/2.8 on D600 and sold it. Simply not up to the 20+ MPix sensor. And CA is excessive.

Sigma original 12-24 is very good distorsion-wise, none at 24mm and very low down to approx 17mm if I remember correctly.
Even at 12mm it is only low-ish barrel.

Hm, I have both and while 100-400 is very nice lens it CANNOT compare with 70-200 in equal terms. Simply the shorter zoom is superior in every way.

Never heard of Canon auto-CA, at least not with PS?

You already know it - "increases" ISO, something we also do in PS ACR when compensate for corner image fall-off.

100-400 at 400mm is better than 2.8/70-200 II IS plus 2.0 TC.
