JeanPierre Thibaudeau: Nice overall but about 120% over saturation in colours and contrast.
Would have to tweak the settings to get something more natural and realistic.
Also, the white balance is off in some pictures, too much blue.
Although in the same category than the EM1, the colours don't even come close.
Maybe they played with the default settings and goofed them up...
ARB1: is it just my eyes or does the Olympus OM-D E-M1 look a whole lot better than the Fuji?
Nope. It's just your eyes. The Fuji looks MUCH better. Hehehehehe
Antahkarana: I wrote the President of Nikon Japan last year about their lack of focus and direction. Namely, the 1 system being a flop in North America can be attributed to their "cheap" design (e.g. V2) and lack of interchangeability with other system cameras (e.g. micro 4/3 group). Who wants to be forced into purchasing Nikon glass at high prices?
Another dpreview reader commented that the 1 system sells much cheaper in Japan. I have to concur. The 1 system needs to be sold at a 40-50% discount in North America to generate sales.
My wish is that Canikon both come to their senses and join the micro 4/3 group to help make it a secondary standard to full-frame/APS-C. It would be great if one could purchase a Nikon micro 4/3 body and put an Olympus/Panasonic/Sigma lens on it or vice-versa.
Fuji's roadmap, new product-line, and recent comments to dpreview readers have convinced me to stop buying Nikon... I will be an avid Fuji user from now on.
(Fyi, I never received a reply from Nikon...)
That's why I gave up on Gillette and went the dollar club way. A good old 2 blade still makes 1 week like Gillette's own 15 years ago and only costs me 4$/month...............
And btw, a good old 2 blade still works best on my face even after trying all of the multiple blade razors out there...maybe it's time for an 8 blade system Gillette.......lmao !
......just fawging stupid and boring...........
Sold all my Nikon gear(except what my wife still uses)...and bought into the new Fuji X-T1 with XF18-55 and a few primes !!
mbrobich: Just PRE-ordered mine. Got a FREE grip included with the pre-order !!

hi50: The high distortion of this lens reminds me of the 18-135 that was a kit lens option on the D80. (And shortly thereafter discontinued.) Although the no. of elements/ groups have changed it looks like Nikon still has some work to do on a lens in this zoom range.
Everytime I import into ACR, everything is amazingly fixed !!
mbrobich: I removed the Low Pass filter(AA) on my D7000, should be pretty sweet and sharp for an all around walk around lens !!!
Follow this great how-to:

Nikon you suck. Where the H*** is the D400 ?
Price on body only ???
bleh....Nikon D3100 came out what 3 years ago and it just a few millimeter bigger....
Falconest174: Just added this to my wish list. Will gladly wait for a review or a preview with some actual shots from a production model. <Drool> Of course my present D7K still is working fine but I like the thought of 50% more resolution. More detail is always better.
Agreed. I do lots of landscapes and lots of birding !
David Kinston: At first glance I was excited by the 'new 1.3 crop mode'. How disappointing that it turned out to be 1.5x1.3 = 1.95 crop mode!
I don't know of any DX only 50mm lenses. They came out with the 35mm DX lens to make the FOV similar to the 50mm on FX. Focal length on your 50mm is still just that. 50mm.
If you take away the history of FX sensors, then the 1.3 crop on this camera is still only that. An extra 1.3 crop.
Field of View is what is important in this case.
Well it always was a crop sized sensor. APS-C.
If you are using DX lenses, it's still only a 1.3 crop. If you are using FX lenses then like u said, 1.5x1.3.
There should be a D400. According to Nikon Europe, they have been told that "..the D7100 is not the D300(s)'s replacement.."
This should keep the D300 crybabies happy...
