  • Some posters computers must get stuck in the past.
  • I still feel Win. 10 will come out well in the end and serve ALL hardware systems equally well.  Certainly I won't be an early adopter but I plan to use it on desktop to cell phone.  I think they ...
  • Replied in Smog.
50 years ago we visited LA when the smog was so bad it hurt the eyes in more ways than one.   Most all major cities have gone through air, water and ground pollution where it gets so bad the ...
  • For a desktop, or plugged in laptop, it's best to use Sleep Mode. A tap on the space bar and it's up and running. It wakes up quicker than from a shut down. Also good practice to shut it down ...
  • Replied in The end is near!
It's been a good run but nearing 150 posts.  What have we learned?  Wait and see what cometh.  Personally I have Win 7 and Win 8.1 and even Vista in house.  I will upgrade to 10 when proven stable ...
  • Right on!  There are knowledgeable and helpful posters here for sure and then there are ???? :-(
  • I wouldn't buy stock in any electronics based company.  The only reason Samsung hangs in there is because of diversification.  They survive on shipbuilding and refrigerators, not on their geewhiz ...
  • I actually currently use an SX40hs as I only upgrade every 2nd or 3rd model.  My next move will be the SX60hs mostly due to the improved ergonomics and better EVF.  For an all in one travel cam ...
  • We are living in a digital open world and if you closet yourself from any and all intrusion we may as well live in a cave.  Governments everywhere spy on your personal life not to mention the CIA, ...
  • Try not to judge a book by its cover. ;-)
  • If you want to be concerned about privacy that bus has gone.  Google has you pegged as to how many times you go to the bathroom.
  • Basically I tend to hold back to see how early adopters make out.  A month or two should do it.  But from what I see there is no actual downside when the choice can be set up for desktop or ...

Suggest you try Canon's Speedlite 270EX.  A good little unit with a tilt head and ample power.  Fits all Canons with a hot-shoe.
  • As it is free and somewhat tested there is no logic in sticking with 7.  I do like the one OS fits all concept.  So what's not to like.??
  • Would you like it to have a 50x zoom range?  How about a 3" swivel- tilt LCD? These items as well as a decent EVF require a size much like the SX50hs.  My ideal would be the size of the old S2is ...
  • All of the above advice is correct.  Just put more effort into it.  It is close fitting and a bit hard to remove but get a fingernail under the forward end and pry it off.  Once off it may well be ...
  • Replied in By a Farm..
Well, here's the problem.  At first glance the wagon is carrying off the garage.  Otherwise there isn't a whole lot of interest here.  Perhaps a different perspective, higher up and off on an ...
  • Acronis TI 2015 claims it can do this and more.  ;-) :-D.  I went from 2013 to 2015 and only found added complication.  As I haven't tried a full restore to a different system I certainly can't ...
  • I have had the Dell U2412M for about 3 years. For the money and if not trying to strain the last tiny bit of photo editing perfection out of it I would put it right on top. I find the aspect ...
  • My SX40 4 way had been a problem with the base of the thumb pressing the ISO up without noticing it.  My cure was the opposite of yours.  A small semicircle pad applied up close to the wheel now ...
