The nikon 24mm f1.4G is one of the best lenses on the market. Are you comparing its performance at f1.4 to the 24-70mm at f2.8?
On DXOmark, it ranks 9th for lenses tested on the D800. First place...

I can tell you that the nikon one does not feel like a quality product. It has worked for me but I expected it to be a tank like the rest of the camera. I can't even tell for sure what parts of it...

I just came up with a million dollar idea and I will give it away for free to Nikon FX users.
Here it is:
Issue: White balance in wedding photography.
Solution: 18% gray pin buttons, handkerchief,...

Hey Terry,
Not sure if you can tell..but I was having a bit of fun with this question. In truth, lenses today are quite good. Both zooms and primes. Are primes better? Yes..much better like I said,...
-
Super zooms like the 28-300 must be much better then.
-
If you look at DXOmark lens data rankings. You will find the 70-200mm VRII on the 3rd page. This also happens to be the only zoom I own at the moment.
To your point, photography is not all about...
-
70-200mm VRII is the only Zoom I have at the moment. Its a great lens.
-
Primes are much better. Zooms are slow, big, only shart in the center, have a ton of CA and cost more money.
If you like to compare a $2000 zoom with a 50mm f1.8...well the 50mm prime still wins.
-
I would have to say primes are much better.
-
Primes...they are much better.

He could have cleaned the phones before taking the pictures ;)

If your going to guy a D800..might as well make it a D800E.
Same FPS for 12 or 14bit (Both Raw modes look about the same as far as image quality)
It was never a huge issue. As MP goes up we see...

Gone are the days of discounts also. How can you lower the cost per month without the current members requesting the same.
-
I would think any woman over age 15 would hate the D800. Too much details...if you catch my drift.

"We expected a higher degree of this type of reaction from the hobbyist photographic community because currently there's not a lot of photography-specific value in our subscription products." But I...

Did he really say that he expected negative reactions from photographers but did not care? That is how I understood his response.

Classic Question Dodge: How do you justify the price increase to photographers? Last year we actually cut the price of Lightroom in half in order to open it up to a broader market of photographers.

Here is a video on Angels Landing.

Looking for feedback on these two places. How hard is the hike assuming you have camera equipment and tripod on you?
Thanks
