cool - people are an interesting subject & as long as he maintains copyright via publishing a low volume coffee table book no harm done. it gets a bit dodgy when sites like dpreview promote the photog by publishing pics that it gets a bit nefarious.
///M: WOW, Canon can spend all this R&D on matched cinema lenses (which will likely be only sold to rental houses) for this niche market, but can't come up with a viable mirrorless camera with compact lenses, really? 1/2 of the DSLR sales in Japan are mirrorless cameras, it does not matter how small the crop sensor bodies get, they are still big and bulky compared to the micro 4/3 and other systems.
The video industry is a huge untapped market for Canon DSLR is declining as mirrorless rises. I think Canon as usual knows exactly where the money is.
Love the HDR very easy to use. Great screen size for showing photos.
nice especially connectivity iptc tweaking branding all in camera i hope the cam makers are paying attention
Toby Smith; Sim Chi Yin; Evgenia Arbugaeva; Tatiana Plotnikova in no particular order
What a suck lens choice boohoo Sony RX1 35mm f2 is slightly better but would prefer f1.4 or faster come on!
Very good high iso result trounces canon big time nice
Roberto Mettifogo: very good for movie making, solid, precise focusing and follow focus ready, precise markings on the barrel, don't complain about price guys, this is not for the sunday photographers... it is a high end lens for digital cinematography, and most of the user will rent them, the price is good.
awesome in vimeo link these cinema lenses have the higher contrast not unlike zeiss but still that creamy look of canon top notch also see this http://vimeo.com/55985070 canon zeiss compare
similar priced to Zeiss Compact Prime CP.2 135mm T2.1 Lens: $5,700.00
Additional Mount (Optional): $390.00
Interesting thinking going on at Canon HQ. Couple this with a 6D wifi uploading straight to facebook, low light focusing camera, perfect events rig combo, as you wouldn't shoot below F4 anyway.
Good peek at the fashion photography world. This view centres on hair shots, Catwalk is more sports photography & editorial is the super budget end. Advertising catalogue work is the well paid end. Great read!
Untethered event photography in low light direct to facebook is the new market segment, Canon have produced the perfect camera for that. SD cards are cheap, The camera is similar priced to the MKII with better low light, Interchangeable focus screens is that an option? 97% coverage viewfinder is fine for run & gun work, lighter for hand held is always better. I am not sure that Canon have stumbled at all. GPS tagging has been wanted as well. People who make money out of event photography will be quietly pleased. Occasional sport shooters may still need the MkIII. I see a lot of wedding shooters who use the occasional prime as being very interested as well. Sure Nikon have some great cameras but the lens market for Canon is so much bigger with second hand lenses a plenty as amateurs switch brands .
CameraLabTester: 1/180 sync speed
Why?
The Jurassic Nikon D70 of digital light years ago had 1/500 !!!!
Never mind...
.
HS Highspeed synch has always been a Canon a feature with Canon flash I use it all the time for weddings as fill
dang would love one if it was a phone as well http://www.samsung.com/in/promotions/galaxycamera/
Element is an excellent choice if you don't export cmyk to print
Glad to see the left focusing issue doesn't exist so many complainers about nothing
Interesting camera, no viewfinder option? well a hotshoe mount will do fine thanks. The 22mm f2 could be promising, lens hood?
Flickr mobile app/support sux big time, it would be cool if sets & collections could be downloaded. Also being able to lock & share to specific people would also be great!
love he focal length but f2.8 is not f1.4 :-(
apple does it again wow! i wish windows managed fonts as well as apple, well done :-)
